I know that other guys asked already but I still try to get an answer. I would like to include this kind of trim sheets and decals in a 3D model for real time assets. For example I wanted to try to merge this workflow with the one that you presented in the 2.0 game asset creation tutorial. This can be really useful and as you showed in another video (I think star citizen ships) it could be a game changer. Please let us know!

thanks for the introduction :) I'm a bit confused ..., in my case I can only apply trimsheets to objects that has no material assigned. On objects without material its working fine.... But I can manually assign the trimsheet by adding a new material and picking the trimsheet from drop-down menu any ideas about this ?

If I have enabled emulation of 3 button mouse function in blender it seems alt + Left click doesn't work and I can't find where to change the bind

The only version of DM available on Blender Market is 2.12 as of November 2024. You're demonstrating with version 2.6.5. There isn't an update after my 2.12 install either. Am I missing something?

I bought hardops package a few days ago. I think I bought the old version of Decal Machine and it had very few decals in it. Can we create our own decal packages, which I was wondering about? I guess Machin3 and decal machine are different from each other, I didn't notice this difference. I've been using Moi3D for years, but I couldn't resist the lure of hardops any longer.

you cant, the only way i see it happening is via creating floating decals on a trim sheet, and texturing them in SP or QM

Hi, i have an issue, when clicking on one of either squars in 2:20, the other trimshits/decals dont show up, leaving me stuck with just one option. I have played wth the setting and restarted blender but nothing has worked. Is there a specific setting for this? Also, i am using verison 2.10 bought from blender market

Installed Decal Machine. Tried to import decals, and it said they are out of date, but strangely I didn't get an option to update them. I'm using Blender 3.3.2

DecalMachine only recognizes zip folders. (If the decal pack's unzipped folder sits in a compressed folder that doesn't count...zip the pack itself) You gotta restart blender sometimes while installing too...this goes for any addon/script.

dude you don't need to hold ALT and click on project or adjust. Just hit DD or DA and you're good.

you re not good, because you cant adjust the depth, and when you explain an addon to folks who never used it they will be confused by all the shortcuts
