Decanting paint is a must for the older paints we have where the propellant is gone or a very clogged nozzle. Follow the instructions to use a pin hole and then either enlarge the hole or cut the top off. MUST USE A PIN HOLE!! NOTHING LARGER OR YOU'LL GET PAINT EVERYWHERE. Mr Mark - here’s a thought to ponder- do you think the propellant in a rattle can affects the paint’s composition (once infused) and influences its final finish quality (better or worse), after “decanting” it, or is the propellant no longer a factor, after releasing it to the atmosphere? Thanks again.
@MarkBatsonHobbydude0072 жыл бұрын
I personally do not think its much of a factor. Lacquers and enamels gas out at different rates but for me airbrush about the same. (maybe a touch more air pressure when applying lacquers) Thanks for watching bro!!

what happens if you load this up into an airbrush without decanting? i did this with either Alkyd or Acrylic spray paint (not sure which) and it didn't give me any issues. i use a 200NH airbrush loaded through a tank (not a hopper like many airbrushes)

@dustincollier61452 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the how too. Would you thin the paint/ primer or or spray straight through the airbrush?
@MarkBatsonHobbydude0072 жыл бұрын
Thanks Dustin!! It really depends on the paint I’m using and how long they have been sitting. Within and hour of decanting enamel I usually shoot then without thinning. Lacquers I thin just a touch. Lightly sand the zipper with a mild sanding medium so the paint has something to “bite” into. Also try an enamel or acrylic-enamel. In my experience they seem to hold up on plastic a little better.
