nah it dont work that way.. its just like becoming a doctor bro. you need to be focused, and 100% in it to win it.. You dont want to create a paycheck you want to create a brand, and have money work for you.. if you aint into what youre doing at school or at your job you wasting your valuable time.. You want to be a pro, or a hobbyist??? That mentality of until its a career is always going to keep you as a hobbyist... you need to already know you want to be a professional producer or whatever it is you want to be.

Already fucks with DECAP 2 mins in for schooling the youngsters on Cool Edit and paste/mix-paste beat making. I started producing on Sound Forge which is the same thing. A single Wave editor. You would have to take a one shot hi hat and then add silence after the one shot. The length of the silence would determine your BPM. So then you would create a 4 bar loop out of that by copying & pasting that one shot 1 after another. Next, you would mix-paste your kick, snare, cymbals, etc. into the hi hat loop to create the pattern. Then you could layer in keys, bass, and whatever else all one one single track.

You don't have to quit your job to produce. I started in 1994/95. I was 23 years old, recently married with a daughter and working full-time when I started. I had a little career in finance but not making a bunch of money. I managed to get a Tascam 8 track cassette recorder and set up a little studio in my living room. It took me what seemed like forever to get to that point. I was subscribed to MIX and Recording magazine and went to the music store looking at equipment I couldn't buy. But by 1996 I had a friend invest about $3k into studio equipment. I lost my job in that same year and used my temp job $ to open a small studio in Winter Park, FL. My beats were horrible but I knew how to do a recording session (probably terrible too) but I could get $15/hr. The little business did okay, but I wasn't really ready and left the state so I had to shut it down. In 1999 I returned to Florida, got another decent job and started building again. I bought computers, MPC2000XL, monitors and a Rode NT-1 mic while working my job with a family and 2 kids. When I was laid off in 2001, I got a severance for being in management that let me open another studio west of downtown Orlando. I had that studio for 5 years full-time. I had no clients in the beginning and ended up with over 150 local artists recording with me. I met Grammy nominated people, Grammy winning producers, and more. We put in a lot of work in the studio. If you want it, you can get it. Right now the investment is so much lower. I put in about $10k overall before I started and got it all back in the first year of running the studio. You can probably do it now for less than half of that. Now I am going to build a new studio again here in Rio de Janeiro. Put the work in and study the game while you are getting the money together. Read and watch the tutorials. Learn the game and when the money shows up you'll be ready to jump in with both feet. There's nothing wrong with working to get yourself in position. If I was 20 yrs old again, I would bustin butt at a job and building my studio.

Such a dope cast i FW ya'll questions cause ya'll producers too. I've spent 10 years studying and comparing and learning each top daw and Cubase is at the top for me with Ableton right behind. Cubase if you're doing production and recording mixing etc... Ableton for production and live. Cubase never gets talked about but has the best of the best features out of all daws but it's only popular in the high end scoring world but if all the producers learned what's under the hood they'd flip. It all comes down to the user though and daw doesn't matter much. he's exactly right on the feel and mood you get from different DAWs. So far I get the best feeling from Ableton but Cubase has too many features and cheat codes to give up
