Nice, was just contemplating an injector cleaner myself!

I would be interested to see a mileage or dyno comparison between a flow-matching set of capped vs de-capped injectors Also curious if different caps can be fitted?

Nice. Does increasing the flow rate decrease fuel economy, assuming the increased flow doesn't lead to increased romping on the right pedal? Didn't you have a different injector cleaning machine and if so, which one do you like better? Thanks!

When you change injector flow rate, you MUST tune the ECU accordingly - ALL of its calculations are based on a known injector flow rating. So, no, if you adjust the ECU accordingly, there should be no reduction in economy. Until boost. Tee hee. I have an "On-Car" cleaner, and this bench top model. I like the bench-top one better, because I can test them, check the flow pattern, clean them, and confirm them afterward. More work though, but life ia like that.

@@GregWellwood Thanks! Just curious at this time. I will be deep diving into my LS in the future but need to get all the bones solid first. I'll bet students line up to get into your class!

I know you check in every week (you're awesome!) - NEXT WEEK we go deep, setting up to tune for boost. See you there!

@@GregWellwood Thanks for the heads up! I'm thinking if I want to go the turbo route when I rebuild my engine. I'm not very good at TIG welding and all that plumbing has me worried.

You don't have to TIG everything, MIG works just fine.

Wont these injectors burn a piston without the difuser?
@GregWellwood6 ай бұрын
No. Many "high flow" factory injectors have no diffuser.

I never understood De-capping injectors other than the engine ran better and made more horse ponies! The OEM's are required to get better MPG, but if increasing performance at the same time, they would do both. They don't. I have cleaned injectors with special equipment that triggers the Injectors 20 times measuring the volume. The GM dealer would clean them once and require "Top Tier Fuel" afterwards. Remember, gas octane or anti-knock rating was non-existent for 100 years. The model T had an advance-retard lever in the steering column for timing because gas / fuel anti-nox rating was not a standard or published! Thanks!
