Decathlon Itiwit electric motor review. Is it worth buying?

This video is a detailed review of Itiwit electric motor from Decathlon for kayak and paddleboard. I will mention all the pros and cons. I bought this electric motor with my own money, this is not product placement.

Thanks for this great review, very informative! I'm living in the south west of the Netherlands and my wife and I like to Kayak on the "Veerse Meer". In this lake you can have a lot of waterplants. Can the motor (easily) be cleaned when something gets entangled in the motor?

I have no experience with waterplants. I don't think it should be a big problem. I've only had one plastic bag suction get tangled in it. I got it out at home with a some wire. Probably best to switch the engine off immediately and try to get it out. Alternatively, you could probably make some DYI net around the back of the engine, to protect it more. Ok. Bravo! Thank you! This solution si SOOO #notCheap #expensive !!! The battery is so small... 6 cells? Also about the remote control, you have to understand that the thing is that receives the signal is in water, a medium that has very different density then air. And electrical engineering teached us that the radio signal doesn't travel well between those 2... Would you be happier of they did it with cable? How long ago did u have the motors? how did the batteries preserved over time?

I have it since summer 2023. Didn't use it over winter. Still happy. If you let the remote control closer to motor (about 1m) it'll solve problems with connection.

Do you go twice as fast if you put two motors on at the same time? Also, if you fall off the kayak does the motor keep going or is there some mechanism to stop it (for existing if the motor cannot sense the remote)

No. I'd say with 2 you go maybe 30-50% faster than with 1.

Can more than one motor be controlled by the same remote control?

No. the remote control is coded with the motor. if you have multiple motors, you must always have multiple remotes. One always controls only one paired motor.

Hi, as I replied to another commet below, the connection is coded. It means you can control always only 1 motor with 1 remote control.

I don't know this kayak. If the kayak have a similar rails and fins as itiwit kayak from Decathlon, than yes.
