I just finished my month long internship at BMRCL pink line and I have to say, absolutely loved it! Walking through the tunnels, watching the TBM in action and the whole construction of the station left us in awe! Truely a one time experience as a student

Bengaluru also need more disciplined citizens -- 90 % cars used in BENGALURE is used with only drivers .. All the other 4 seats and space on road gets wasted .. People do not find traveling in CITY BUS is as per their standard .. Major Infra project on LIVE CITY is like BY PASS SURGERY on the patient

Nice work! It's hard to do tunneling in Bangalore's geological condition. Still, it will pay off with a much faster metro than its elevated counterpart as you don't have to follow the roads. I'm I'm really looking forward to it.

Correction: Pink line was started on Bannerghatta road in Dec 2017, I remember the time because it was my daily office route.

The problem is that Bengaluru should have got south east,east,north east Bengaluru metro first rather than Kanakapura Road,Mysore road(Kengeri)because these places don’t have traffic level as the above mentioned

We need a circular line (TUBE) in each metro of India. Hopefully the different crayon colours are combined together to form 2 ellipses in each metro. (INNER RING ROAD vs OUTER RING ROAD)

Bengaluru need almost 250-300 Km metro line for decreasing the current heavy traffic in Bengaluru..in 2022 I travel North to south bengaluru which takes 2.30 hour..it was so penic for me..I think government need to make almost 5-6 line..which help the IT professional, Students and the corporates..

Phase 1 was a great boost but phase 2 and 3 need to be completed fast... with new phases added fast and with upcoming ring roads like itrr,strr,prr and k-ride the suburban rail traffic should finally be a bit less 😅❤

It belt needs connectivity. Whitefield is done . Blue line from Silk Board to airport needs to complete. But it’ll be done in 26 only. It’ll help travellers to marathalli go fast

The sad things about Bangalore are, the crowded areas are always under some kind of construction, 2 lane roads/service road are really bad, nobody is following any traffic rules. Even if the sovereign government has changed, nothing good happened to the common people 😢

Current MG Road is fine. But, our 80s and 90s MG Road was the real iconic road with all the erstwhite theaters, shopping places. We were able to cross the road then. Now, forget that

@@sharankumar4396 if you are being that analytical, why don't you take the entire story into consideration? This metro operational now was conceptualized in the early 2000s and even HDK's first govt told that Bannerghatta doesn't need metro as there is no demand. City grew exponentially in the 2010s decade and Whitefield, E-city, Airport and Bellandur region was the hotspot for traffic where the metro work is ongoing. Once it is all done, I would say 2 million plus daily ridership can be achieved. The current metro is only for the original city limits.

The construction of pink line started in early 2018 and not in 2021. I stay just next to one of the metro stations. This project has been delayed a lot.

Excellent reporting by the smart young reporters of Deccan Herald. As a resident of NY city I use the over 100 year old metro (MTA/Subway). It provides excellent connectivity and at quick speeds by having both local and express trains. Deccan Herald should use its reputation and influence to educate Namma Metro on what is available out there. After waiting for decades for a metro the citizens of Bengaluru should not be give a substandard and suboptimal product.

I have traveled in Metro/Subway networks in India, USA, EU and I can safely say that in terms of user comfort/ cleanliness / ease of use (smart card/qr code) Namma metro is one of the best experiences. Only missing thing I would say is the extensive connectivity that other mature networks have. Once Namma metro completes the currently under construction lines it will not be behind anyone in the world. Special props to the Namma metro authorities for keeping the Metro trains and the stations extremely clean. NYC subway is literally disgusting, hope Namma metro doesn't go that route after 2-3 decades of running.

@@varunj2244 my comment was related to design and specifications. Since you are familiar with NY MTA you will appreciate the concept of local vs express trains that NY has. Someone can go from downtown to midtown non-stop. With Namma metro with its two lines instead of four skipping stations will be harder. Perhaps adopting automated platform doors would be a potential solution (a costly one though)

@@tvm73836 your points are fair. Namma metro plans to make more frequent trains, that should help a bit. However, I do know that the way they've built the tracks with curves, it's hard for trains to go fast at many places. The stations themselves were important so can't argue with the routes. One can only say, well they could've gone fully underground which would balloon the costs and project durations. So I sort of understand those compromises. Having said that, Namma metro is still pretty good.

BMRCL also need to plan routes from electronic city to tumukur road via nice road, hebbal to kr puram to silk board to hebbal connecting to the airport. This would help to decongest traffic on major roads like the silkroad, hebbal.

when they said 388 days to tunnel 1076 mtrs....... they mean for 1 km tunneling they took an year and a month 😅😅, now i understood why they are taking so long .

If it was delhi metro they would have inaugurated the whole line. But bengaluru its never ending process. Pick up any project nothing is on time. A small stretch of baiyapanahalli to KR puram they need ages to open it.

Thanks DH for positive and constructive reporting , this is what people need to see in News channels . All news channels showing masala and family issues of 1 or few families , only news which is relevant to many people should be shown . Hard work of these people in tough conditions is something we need to admire and respect and thank . If everybody sits at home taking freebies and not paying taxes then such structures will not be made and we will still be in under developed country . Thanks again for showing goodness and positivity . Big things are achieved step by step and comments and tell this is should be done like this etc etc is easy job , so most people fall under this category of commenting and finding faults . We need to ignore such people and stay positive and hope to see more positive and happy news from DH . General public mind need to be fed with good things and when so many good things happening , its not right to search for negative things only and publish and show only bad things , so New channels need to introspect . Nothing can alleviate Bluru of its traffic problem. Rampant corruption & constructions of SEZ & IT parks on the ORR stretch is the main problem. Traffic is just a symptom. Back in 2010 we used to walk from Sarjapura Signal till Kadubeesanahalli because buses couldn’t move 100mtrs in an hour. There were just 5Major Tech parks (Ecospace, Intel, Cessna, Bagmane & Manyata). They constructed useless flyovers which ended right in front of the Tech Parks. Govt should have stopped further IT parks in the ORR stretch & should have given permissions outside Bluru. But there was huge money & they turned blind eye. Now its a pain to travel in that stretch. Metro would just ease 10-15% of the traffic. Thats not enough. Anyone who things further infrastructure is the solution is living in a fools paradise. The solution is to move corporate to Areas such as Ecity, Devanahalli & plan infrastructure in those areas to accommodate for 4x traffic. They need to be ready for future, not busy fixing previous problems.

If possible kindly make a video of Bengaluru traffic management system how they monitor the traffic from the control room and how the system works like how it detect signal jump ,no helmet etc it will be useful to know how the entire traffic system works thanks.

please increase the amount of coaches... the current trains are completely packed and with the introduction of new routes.. the rush is only going to increase.. so please deploy.. 10 coach trains and take tips from singapore and Tokyo metros on the management... as Bengaluru has a huge population and the ease of travel will be a turning point in the development of our city
