i love madono's adachi more than jyb's most of the time tbh, after the reveal jyb voices him so seriously he kinda loses the playful jester charm madono gives him. but *the demented laugh* is waaaay more underwhelming here in japanese dub i have to admit. bosch really did a phenomenal job with this, nothing but applause to him

I agree with this comment so much!! I like both the sub and dub a lot Sub is more playfully goofy, and dub is more nonchalantly goofy. Idk if that’s the best way describe it 😭 but I feel like it’s different interpretations of Adachi that I enjoy equally English dub demented laugh sweeps though, absolutely peak

Is this only me? Adachi japanese dub is more lively, but english Dub Adachi voice is more good and the laugh feel like real.

Both have their own merits. I personally prefer the Japanese dub of Adachi. Dub Adachi captures the insanity, but I feel it lacks the subtleness of the Japanese. And vice versa, Japanese doesn't capture the insanity, but has the subtleness.

I love both versions, though I have to say in this particular scene I might have a slight preference for the dub. Madono's Adachi is more like a jokester, he never quite sounds menacing or insane (which could be both a good and a bad thing, I personally like it because you're not expecting him to turn out so crazy). On the other hand, Bosch perfectly captures Adachi's true face, making it easier to perceive Adachi as a villain and take him seriously. Honestly though, both are great.

@Paulo 78 Japanese is the best because after all, it's a Japanese game and an original language. Maybe they'll first learn how to properly dub in English dubbing, and not read from a sheet of paper without any emotions. Not to mention that they can't literally translate from Japanese to English.
