I remember the name of this show and I remember Spring Byington. However, I don't remember any episodes. It came on when I was aged 5-8. I just noticed that Harry Morgan played on Dragnet and Mash. Memories!

December Bride also had a spin-off series: Pete and Gladys with Harry/Henry Morgan and Cara Williams. It was a bit of a screwball comedy series in the vein of I Love Lucy with Ms Williams taking the spotlight and Mr Morgan almost a prop. I had heard of December Bride but never saw any video until now.

What a lovely little lady, Spring Byington, and Verna Felton was just wonderful- That is when America was really a great nation.

i just commented to a friend how much i loved this show and several others of the same period... Our Miss Brooks, Ann Southern, Donna Reed, Lucy, of course, and then growing up and discovering that the stars had big movie careers before tv!

Wow! Wish they put comedies like this back on tv. Clean humor. A bit sentimental, but a good story.

This episode originally aired on January 17, 1955, during the first season. The opening and closing titles are from the syndicated edition of the series, as the originals had General Foods sponsor I.D.'s and logos {Maxwell House} included in them.

I loved this show when I was a child. It had a great cast, and was produced before our country became youth obsessed. I always felt that Spring Byington had a sweet way about her. The one liners are still funny . That Henry Morgan was hilarious !

I used to watch this show years ago as a kid on ch.48 in Philly. Between 10-11mon.-fri. they ran two classic sitcoms-called it something like comedy showcase. Some of the other shows were love that Bob...our miss brooks...the donna reed show..bachelor father...make room for daddy...and you bet your life...with groucho marx. Competing channel 29 ran green acres at 10:30! What a great time for Tv. Does anyone else from Philly remember this?

Dean Miller owned a radio station in Newport , Ky in his later years. WNOP 740 AM. They played jazz music and it was a most entertaining group of guys.

TVLand is missing a great opportunity to increase it's audience considerably by airing some of these 50's shows...baby boomers remember them and miss them! I'm sure these shows would get a large audience of boomers! Come on Marketing get busy!

Parke Levy based December Bride on the positive relationship he had with his mother in law . There is no DB without Spring ( her first name fits ) Byington. She played straight for Verna Felton to supply the laughs . The anthesis of ILL with Ball and Vance. Rafferty and Miller were her straight men . Morgan supplied his sardonic remarks This DB cast were really an ensemble cast. Not to many TV casts appeared in every episode , not even ILL could say that . Handsome Dean Miller was really Parke Levy .

I was seven or eight when I watched this show. It was my favorite show next to Captain Kangaroo. I have vague memories of other funny shows. Our Miss Brooks was one. But there was another that I 'think' might have been a show about the Archies. The only thing I remember was teenagers in trouble with an older man (the daddy?), and HOLY COW being emblazoned on the screen. Anyone else remember such a show and the name? I think it was on CBS.

TV Land used to be wonderful at first, but now what I really despise about that channel is, not only did they eliminate their retromercials, but ALL SHOWS now, they completely eliminate the ending themes. That's part of the charm of the show, unfortunately today there's TOO MANY channels that are starting that now.

Verna Felton was adorable & Dean Miller very sexy. It's a shame this series is so obscure. It'd be nice to see MORE of December Bride, & COMPLETE episodes if anyone happens to have them. You can cast a vote at TV Shows On DVD's website to express an interest in seeing this classic get the DVD release it so richly deserves.
