Making a quick update video before the holidays. The biggest news is that I have been working part time as a maintenance technician for a nearby apartment complex. It has been an interesting experience so far but it is going well so far, the hardest part is interacting with all the people in their spaces, as I am a bit of an introvert and I'm used to being in my own space away from people. Now that I am settling into my new job, I am looking forward to some new projects like building trails, building some goat pens, starting some mushrooms, and making some soaps and other things.
I hope this video finds you all well. Best wishes all.

Great to see an update from you, stick with your plans on the mushrooms, would love to see "organic woods grown" varieties. Happy holidays to you and your family

I always enjoy your videos. I'd love to see more about the wildlife(birds especially) and different plant life on your property. Making some trails sounds like a really cool idea and would definitely be something I would do if that was my property.

glad you're doing well and having some new experiences, always good for the mind. i remember when you mentioned the tree plan previously, funny thing is since then i got into the subject myself and ended up writing down every native species to my county along with water, light needs, and general plant form. there is so much depth to seeing how a forest functions and progresses, so i definitely agree there that it's a fun subject. before then, i didn't even know i lived in a mesic/moist secondary growth forest, and stuff like that. also agree on finding more reasons to celebrate, especially during the darkest parts of the year, living close to nature like you do gives such an understanding of the cycles through the year, and a celebratory atmosphere keeps spirits up. even with the overall colder new england climate than where you are, i am also hoping on a snowy holiday, and looks like chances are good.

You have found a lot of good stuff it sounds like. The forester who has been helping me out has really helped me understand how the trees interact and what diseases are common for the area. I feel a lot more confident about thinning specific stands of trees and a good rotation as that happens. Have a great winter season.

It’s good to see you again, Jared. You’re living a life I wish I could at times. I wish you luck. By the way, electrical stuff is my thing. I am very curious about alternative power generation you are considering. I might be able to contribute some ideas.

I hope all is well. Thanks for the luck. I've had a bunch of half thoughts at this point. A biogas generator, or a wood gasifier. I've also been thinking through a gravity battery of some sort. On a less experimental note I need to expand my current system to meet the demand of my bigger house.

If I could make a suggestion on the mushroom business. Look into what you can grow that is popular among the homeopathic groups, what sells when dried. If you can market wild cultivated and grown in nature you could charge a premium for "wild grown" mushrooms that you wouldn't need to keep fresh.

That is something that i have thought about. We have quite a bit of turkey tail that grows around here and is easy to cultivate.
