The snow scenes were beautiful! Thanks so much for sharing--we haven't had any yet. :-) I had to smile when you said you had dropped a stitch and somehow picked up one--reminded me of my own knitting attempts. :-) Glad you are feeling better and hope it continues through the rest of the winter.

Thank you - the snow only lasted a day I’m afraid but we were so excited as I can’t remember the last time we had December snow! I’m glad it’s not just me who struggles with knitting :)) I’m sure I’ll get the hang of it eventually … maybe! Sending love, Em 💕

The light show at the end is amazing! I have never seen anything like it in the US. I have given up on knitting. I just cant get the hang of it and crochet is so much easier for me. My current craft obsession is cross stitch. Have a great 2023.

Thank you, it was truly stunning! I don’t think knitting will ever come naturally to me 🤣 but I’m happy with crochet most of the time! I’m glad you’re enjoying cross stitch though - I’ve never really done that either. I’d really like to try some simple patchwork this year too! Wishing you a fabulous, crafty 2023. Emma xx

Emma I have thoroughly enjoyed watching your vlogs! They are an absolute joy to watch ❤ thank you for taking the time to film - love all the book recommendations and your charity shop finds are always soooooo good! I visited Bath Christmas market for the first time as a special treat as I had a big birthday last month 🤫 😂 Keep at the knitting - I too thought continental style would suit me but I never got on with it and so knit the English way and I tend to flick when I knit, I think that’s the right term. Already looking forward to the next Vlog/ podcast xxx

Thanks Sherrie, I have been catching up with lots vlogmas’ that I missed before Christmas and saw you were in Bath! I loved the little incense holder you found. What a lovely birthday trip and belated birthday wishes!!! Did you get up to Persephone books I think you’d like that book shop too - it’s so pretty. Xx

Posting again. :) Lovely vlog. No one does Christmas like you Brits do. Went to London for Christmas in 2015 and coming home seemed such a let down after that. I would love to be able to do continental knitting but I think my fingers are too short. I don't have any trouble with the knit stitches, but I just can't get the purl stitch. I think the key is to just do a swatch with scrap yarn and keep going till it gets comfortable. I had carpal tunnel and an occupational therapist told me if I didn't learn to use my left hand, I'd end up needing surgery and I managed to learn to use my left hand for more tasks.

Happy New Year Emma! I'm sorry you and your family were all ill over Christmas. So many came down with it. Your knitting looks good. I am exactly the same, I just find it stressful and so slow going. Like you, I tell myself the more I do then the better and faster I will get, but when crochet grows so fast (and it's so easy to rectify a mistake), I always revert back to it. Every year I say "This will be the year for knitting"......then I become a coward and crochet instead!!!😂😂😂 One day I'll knit more than a scarf! p.s the snow scenes were magical! ❄❄❄

Hello lovely, happy new year to you too 💕🥂 I honestly can’t understand why I am so slow it’s taken a week to knit something I could crochet in 30 mins 🤣 it’s getting longer but it will definitely be an achievement if I finish it! Hope you had a lovely Christmas - weren’t we lucky to get some snow in December! Sending love 💕 Em xx

Great to see the amazing Roald Dhal light display - how fabulous were they! Sorry you and the family were poorly, this bug seems to go on forever! I succumbed to it yesterday 🤨. I have to tell you that watching your vlog was the most Christmassy thing I’ve seen; I loved seeing your footage of the frosty fields and hedgerows, especially when it was snowing. Also thank you for sharing your book collection, but now I’ve got Christmas book envy. So nice to see you back on screen 👍🏻x

Thank you Anne 💕 Sorry to hear you are now poorly… it really is a nasty virus, I’m still coughing now - I didn’t even cough this much when I had Covid 😳. Weren’t we lucky to have snow in December - it was so beautiful but sadly only stayed a day here. Sending lots of love and hope you feel better soon. Take care, Em 💕

Happy New year, Emma! 🌸 I’m also a beginner at knitting, I start about 3 months ago but already have finished couple pair of sock and a hat 🥳 My tension was also tight until I get to see my friend knitting, her wrists are very relaxed and her movements looked very smooth. So that’s what I start doing too. I also watched few people on youtube, just to see their way of knitting, until I picked up my comfortable way 🤗👌❤

Happy New Year 💕✨ Wow you sound like you have picked knitting up a lot easier than me … I can’t imagine being able to make socks! That’s such a good idea about watching KZbin for technique, I’ll definitely try that - thank you. 💕

@@Lululovescrochet Well, to be honest I had a headache throughout the whole week while I was learning how to do a heel! And few unraveled socks 😂 But my best tip always have been to start with something complicated because you would pick up few techniques at once and then everything else will be a lot easier. 👌🥰

HI Emma, the button hook was used for shoes. Your needlecase is lovely. Never been lucky enough to find one of those but I've never seen a crochet hook so small or quite like yours.. It's so fun to have a collection of Christmas stores. Have you ever read "A Christmas Memory" by Truman Capote? It's very touching. Always wanted a hard cover copy and last year my sister saw one and sent it to me. I do love finding nice Christmas picture books at thrift stores. Did you crochet the "snowman" on your bookshelf? I have the pattern and hope to make it but would really like to find a copy of the book and dvd. I've read most of Dickens books but surprisingly never "The Christmas Carol". It's another I'd like to find someday.

Hi Gail, yes I thought it may be a button hook but wasn’t completely sure. I’ve not read A Christmas Story but it’s definitely one I want to as I’ve read a few of his books now. How lovely that your sister remembered you were looking for one such a lovely gift! Yes I did crochet the snowman he was from a pattern in Simply crochet I think several years ago! I love him, he comes out each year! We actually watched it on TV again this Christmas it’s just beautiful! I think sometimes the thrill of finding a book on my list in the charity shop is worth the wait it takes to find it don’t you?! Sending lots of love, Em xx
