I think click's S2 stun ends up putting her a decent bit above Amiya for early accounts, personally. That stun has unironically saved some of my runs before thanks to the drone following enemies along and also interrupting their attacks. Its effectively a huge damage debuff and slow wrapped into one.

Vanguard: Courier (E1, he's free and Myrtle might not always work as you might need 2 block) Guard: Mousse (E1, at some point, you do need ground unit arts damage and she's the cheapest investment if you don't have Surtr) Sniper: Meteor (her DEF shredding can be useful on rare stages), Totter (E2 if you want. He is surprisingly powerful), Shirayuki (E1, AoE arts can come in useful from time to time) Caster: Click (E1 or higher if you like her, she is surprisingly powerful with her extended range and stun. CC is always nice) Medic: Sussuro (E1 or higher if you like her. She is arguably the best burst healing medic, especially for single target), Purestream (E0 or E2. She is also an amazing burst healing medic but the problem is you need her module to remove the penalty on her range. Her range is also great after you get her module), Gavial (E1 if you really need a second single target medic. She's not great but her sustain is not that bad and she is a bit tankier than the other 4* medics) Support: They're their own niche. Orchid is seriously just fine for slowing enemies. Specialist: Ethan (E1, I'm surprised he wasn't mentioned. Unfortunately, he is actually like a must build due to certain stages that require DoT damage), Shaw and Rope are also needed for certain stages and you cannot do without. I think that wraps up the basic "best" 4* investment operators. There are some classes that are just simply mediocre in 3* and 4* like Centurion. Or AoE casters are generally a mediocre class so Lava is usually fine or you can find some other alternatives rather than building Skyfire or Gitano.

as May's strongest soldier i cannot emphasize enough how underrated she is, at e2 level 70 with m3 s2 she can climb up to about 1.1k attack which is pretty bonkers for a low rarity utility operator, combine that with the stun chance and the slow and she becomes one of the best options vs low altitude hovering enemies even for end game accounts, i'd go so far to say she's up there with Jaye and Cutter as one of the best non-Myrtle 4 stars

Haze is pretty good pick if you're like me and think that Amiya is a bit on the underwhelming side. Percentage based RES debuff is a neat tool when you're using Arts oriented DPS team, and her S2 pairs well with Amiya's S1 when it comes to bursting a single high RES enemy. Just be careful of where you place her since that HP reduction means that she pretty much gone if anything touches her.

Pudding is great for base skill too. I haven't had a need to raise other 5 star chain casters for a while since she's good enough.

If Ethan counts, Indigo also counts. If the RNG is especially painful for Ethan... It doesn't get better with Indigo but she does get damage over time as her additional gimmick... Ambriel deserves all the praise even though May is godly

Ethan with the modules and S2m3 becomes way better with rng. I'm surprised Purestream isn't mentioned. Top quality gold production and very practical when you need burst healing.

Loved Quartz and Humus for episode 13! Both really useful for the myriad of enemies even at E1. I personally play the game since like the end of lone trail on global and exclusively pulled characters I like so I don't have a lot of meta/strong units so 4 stars still are really useful for me despite having done everything but 13-21 and those two were real lifesavers

Honestly, almost all the 4 stars are pretty damn impressive and well worth the investment unlike most other games where its objectively better to dump low rarities. I still use my E2 max 4 stars to this day despite having the 6 star equivalents.... its mostly cuora. I also say almost instead of all cause verdant is like right there and he is one of the operators of all time. I love his en VA and it's one of the best we've gotten so far this year, despite being obscenely British sounding(can almost feel the thickness of his accent) and his S2 is honestly not that bad. His everything else is meh and falls extremely flat compared to other 4 stars and dollkeepers. There is also Quartz but honestly she ain't as bad as verdant. It's just that crushers need an abjurer and medic near them more or less due to lack of any self sustain or dmg reduction(save for mr only backshot in the game. The supreme simp.)

Humus Humus is such an underrated 4*. I feel like most people forget him since he was a relatively recent addition, but this man absolutely carries you through a lot of stages. I often used to use La Pluma for early CE clears with extremely low level ops, since she can handle multiple lanes so long as someone is blocking the enemies, and Humus can do that too, but as a 4*. Must build for any new doctors.

@@nightly2005 I'd say it's good for you instead. Since I started 2 years late, I have many 5* ops I want to build, but I always like 6* more and as a f2p, I never have a moment where I have no op to raise since grinding for 6* ops is expensive af.

@@horse4113 for me the only two limitimg factors in raising operators are lmd and chips. Other shit is very easy to get due to obscene amount of certificats i have. But when you have a big roster of 6* with your old dependable favourite operators you tend to procrastinate or not even bother to raise other operatives. Or not use them afterwards - I dont think i used Executer alter seriously even once after i got him to e2. As well is Fartooth - her skin is gorgeous, so she IS e2, but, like, my Schwarz is e2lv90s3m3 and Pozemka not far behind so.... And im also never gave money to Hyperglyph - at start i was too poor and nowadays i got hit by unfortunate developments of not being able to give money to devs due to politics
