Hey there Driver. Thanks for taking the time to check out today's upload. What's your overall experience been with companies recently? Are they straight up with you or are they constantly jerking you around? Love to hear your thoughts.

I drove for ACT in Kansas City last year. They harassed me 2 to 3 times a week every week for 5 straight months then fired me without telling me exactly why I was being fired. Wouldn't even provide transportation home. I had to rent a car. Fortunately I lived only 3 hours away. I called the recruiter to say goodbye. She was always friendly to me but at the end she wouldn't even talk to me. During those 5 months I lost my home and was homeless living out of a truck, had a friend in the hospital, another friend had died and my dad was in and out of the hospital. After I got fired my dad died the day after Christmas. So, how was the year 2023 for you drivers?

I've matured as a worker and chose to get I to trucking I'm two years in and the experience has been nothing short of toxic. I've been to 3 companies in 2 years finally getting what I thought would be a money changer fuel delivery job. I gave up 6 weeks vacation and $25 and overtime pay at my first fertilizer tanker job and now the "step up" with more responsibility across the board doesn't pay ANY over time only straight time with Chinese load pay that averages $24. Oh by the way I lost almost all my benefits except the benefit they think is to work every other weekend. This industry can't compete with entry level no GED factory work in my area. It's disheartening. What's a man to do?

I’m real sorry this happened to you driver. Companies that fire drivers for no reason that act alone should be considered illegal. I hope all is better for you.

My great uncle runs an honest company. All of his trucks are well maintained, 18 speeds, and classic looking, powerful, and everyone is very nice and respectful. 17 drivers all together since a few run team. Everyone gets Thanksgiving off and Christmas absolutely no exception unless you want to work those days. He's very understanding and let one guy take 6 weeks off because of a busted arm and when he got back his truck had been gone through, all problems fixed, the cab and bunk cleaned (he removed all of his personal things so don't worry). My great uncle is a good man and respected by many

I am not a trucker, under any circumstances! But, I know: the truckers are the life blood of the trucking business! I see truckers parked from another state. I ask where they are from, and they are pretty 😎 with me bc I only keep them for a whole 30 seconds! I let them be! I have been subscribed to this channel for 3 years now! Always enjoy you, sir, talking about the inner workings of the trucking industry! God bless you, sir, and be safe 🙏! Joey in Cleveland

Also, keep an eye constantly on your dac report. I just requested a free copy of mine through Hire Rite. With this form you’ll know what previous employers have said about you. If you find anything that is written about you in a false light and you know the company is lying I recommend Truck Drivers to address it immediately.

Thankful for a clean 31 years and counting so I can just say, "No"... I think I've been trying to escape it for 30 years... Thankful I don't have to put up with the bs from the companies any more than I absolutely want to now. In all those years, I've had ONE great dispatcher that was up front about runs (I will still in dry-vans hauling mostly auto seat parts). When that one moved into load-planning, I got the opposite end of the spectrum, a "used car salesman" that would comment, "Man, have I got a deal for you!" (literally)... He had several chances to make his "deals" up to me but that is one of only two places I walked out without any notice after parking it on their yard and cleaning out the truck.

It’s not just in the Trucking Industry but also other Industries that employ Truck Drivers like Oil Field, Sanitation, Construction and Rental companies like United and Herc Rentals. Those other industries that have Truck Drivers are driving for them can be in many cases worse.

Honestly, my company is actually quite good. They've gotten me home when I needed, sometimes even a day early if there's nothing going that way and I'll be sitting anyhow, the loads are on average very good (sure, there's the few that I'm sitting on for 15 hours but they're rare) and dispatchers and planners have a their head on their shoulders and not up their ass.
@johnmcgregor36713 ай бұрын
Sounds like a company I drove for they would tell you after 5 years you would get a brand new truck which they did things would be good for a bit then one day you would show up and there was a email for you saying you were in danger of losing your new truck as you were not meeting the milage expectations they placed on you without telling you never mind they were the ones deciding on what trips you got and how many you would get a week and don't kid yourself dispatchers have there pets and you can always tell who they are
@ENIGMVTIK3 ай бұрын
Know how else companies will lie to you? By saying just about everything you just did... They'll lay out the harsh truth and throw every other company under the bus, while telling you how they could *never* be like them. They stiff the lifeblood of their company by any means necessary, but can somehow afford the best marketing/recruiting teams in the world.
