No place ever will allow you to air or blow off a flammable material. Air causes fiction and fiction on top of flammable fumes will cause an explosion. I pulled hazmat for 15 plus years and chemical tanks for 11 years.

I think the best explanation of synthetic i got was synthetic is like a bunch of basket balls, all the same size, and mineral oil is like a bunch of basketballs, footballs, baseballs. Basically synthetic gives you consistency and predictable performance

Number 1 1998 to 2002 W9, That was my last truck. Had a Mack R with a 5 & 4, get a kick out of these guys with two stick 18 or 13 speeds, 2nd stick is fake and just a splitter. Drove the same International cabover for a while for Pepsi. Had a 2003 379 that would be #2, Had a 2005 Mack, heavy haul, heavy spec that almost put me in bankruptcy, that would be #29467 on my list. Mack was over on 03. That Kenworth cabover was beautiful.

I pulled into Hammond La. TA late evening, W9 260" wb a lowboy, 29' well. Road around a few times and there was no parking spot anywhere. You know, when they are parking in the strangest places. Places you would never think of but are impressed when you see it. Anyway, there was a slot open but it was narrower than my truck, there was an oversize on a flatbed that took up a few feet of that spot. There was a truck parked right across on the curb in the way. I swung toward that truck and got real close. The guy got out and said "you'll never get in there, you won't fit". I said, I'm tired, watch me. I backed in under the oversize load and when I got back there, I realized the truck on my passenger's side, he couldn't get out of his door because my front deck blocked his door, it was close. So I pulled ahead and got even closer to him until he could step out on my lower deck and that left room for the oversize to clear my front deck and tractor. The guy watching me do it said WOW, and I said "good night." Got up in the morning and both trucks were gone.

My best buddy has an old 96 ford dump truck , it’s mint because he gives it everything it needs when it needs it as far as maintenance , has one point two million kilometers on it , and has only done the crank bearings , it’s an old 60 Detroit , it’ll still keep up with my 2009 dd15 Detroit with only 300000 km on it , it’ll still keeps up with my 2009 560 hp dd15 with 300000 klicks , point being if you take care of a heavy truck it can last almost forever

I witnessed a driver pull up 8 times in an empty lot the size of a baseball diamond two nights ago. He had to be a new driver. It was awful. Witnessing that makes me wonder how he even passed his road test.

I definitely tell them that if they wanna know what I’m doing they will have to send/pay an actual person with me to observe and make notes on what I’m doing. Technology is just a cheap cop out to micromanage drivers. Now granted if the policy was to install cameras with problematic drivers, ones tending to get lots of tickets/violations and/or accidents but leave good drivers alone, I’d probably be more inclined to accept.

True story: I had that exact ride in a dream, ironically, while I was docked at a warehouse.. After I felt the point of no return, feeling, I felt the peace of God. "Finally, it's over" I said. 😢RIP OLD DRIVER

One more note. They outlawed the use of engine braking around the country in many areas including my hometown.

I once came down a hill in lead by deadwood just to find no brakes. No emergency brakes. Whent through 2 stop signs and across a main highway. Every lucky no damage other then codriver who climbed in the back then jumped. Was going to run against the gaurd railing if up side didn't stop me. The thing in south dakota. Ramps are removed for development. Others have poor signage and are not maintained. Realy hard to see at night. Brake checks are on down slopes where in my case, I found out trying to stop. Sping brakes nowadays are a blessing to some degree. I still test and inspect tire and brakes as part of pretrip. Most don't. Yes I found brakes not working on pretrip once. Several times not releasing over the last 50 years. By passing weight station is a good way not to discover problems.
