I've been mowing grass since Moby Dick was a sardine n never leveled a deck. I'm amazed at how many people adjust their decks without checking the air in the tires.

You definitely clarified the situation with my NEW LT46 with a bagger. It was the left side while sitting on it. OMG I was going nuts with trying to figure it out. So far you have the best adjustment video for my situation. Lower the nuts to raise it up. Good job mentioning to also check the air pressure since having a bag full will make a difference in the cut as well due to the additional weight on the back end. Sucks living on a hill such as my place is but all in all going up and down not cross cutting makes it look more like a country club. Thanks again for your video!

Tire pressure perfect and factory new tires on a xt1 a year old. Your instructions for side to side level were perfect and the wheel check saved a bunch of getting up and down on 75 yr old arthritic knees. It's back to being a monster mower again!

Thank you for your video it helped me understand how a deck works. Mine is really, really low even though I have set it on high! So hopefully I will now be able to manage my grass!

Well done. 7 minute video, 5 minutes applying my new found knowledge. Probably saved me $200. Can I buy you a beer?

Thanks for the info for leveling my deck, which was almost like yours was, made a huge difference!!

Good job! I was not getting the right result because I was doing it wrong. Thanks for the video.

Gonna try this because I find the 4 inches set on the mower is too low for my grass. I like to cut really high and it has worked for my lawn to give it that lush look but this xt1 really cut my grass short on its highest height.

I was not able to apply enough torque to loosen the top nut with the wheel on the mower the first time. I had to lift the mower with a hydraulic bottle jack and remove the wheel.

Also owners manual states only adjust the deck height for leveling the deck with the rod closest to the chute

When your deck is fully up, is one side higher than the other when on 4??
@ErebosOnTwoWheels2 жыл бұрын
Make sure tire pressure is correct in all 4 tires before starting. Measure from ground to blade tip on each side for most accurate leveling, decks usually aren't perfectly shaped and flat.

In order to lift the deck, do any of the other levels have to be a particular position. My ZT1 42 will not depress when pushing on the left hand side, Any ideas? THX

Very good video. My issue is that my highest deck height at the highest adjustment setting (4) is barley 3". That;s with the leveling nuts adjusted to their lowest position (creating the highest deck hight). It seems I may have to take off the leveling nuts, add a 1" sleeve, then lower down the nuts, to pull the deck up. Has anyone tried this ? Or have a better way to raise the deck ?

Is the front of the deck level with the rear of the deck? It matters to me.
@Supra_Na962 жыл бұрын
Wait are you trying to say you want your anti scalp wheels to touch the ground while your ride?? Bc that’s not what they are for.
@SirNBK752 жыл бұрын
No, they are touching only as a gauge to which side is high/low.
@jamesvertrees58573 жыл бұрын
first thing to do is check tire pressure and make them equal. front small tires have higher pressure usually around 20 psi, rear tires are around 8-14 psi. finally he did say check pressure.
@thomaswright62503 жыл бұрын
I've got a question is your tire pressure and tire diameter the same on both sides
@jamesvertrees58573 жыл бұрын
it should the same on both sides, bigger tires should have lower pressure than small tires.
@elcomandante92993 жыл бұрын
@@jamesvertrees5857 that's not the way it works. Bigger tires less air,smaller tires more air?
@jamesvertrees58573 жыл бұрын
@@elcomandante9299 It has been my experience that it does. The tires on a bike run at high pressure. The front tires which are smaller on most z type mowers run at about 20 to 21 lbs while rear tires can run at 8-14. The lower pressure in rear tires lead to a wider foot print resulting less pivoting when turning and a smoother ride. I have been mowing professionally for 28 years and I do read the manuals. Check it for yourself.

Your explanation was confusing, you were letting that rod up and down not raising one to lower it
@krishnapatel38773 жыл бұрын
He was just trying to level the mower deck. His deck was lower on one side and higher on one side so to correct it, he made opposing adjustments to each side to balance it.
@beentheredonethatoriginals56732 жыл бұрын
Yes it was. You turn the nuts clockwise to raise the deck, it is that simple. He made the explanation unnecessarily complicated.
@slowyo9645 Жыл бұрын
Agreed. All I heard was, "I had to raise this, to lower that". Just need to say turn it clockwise or counter-clockwise, tighten or loosen the nut. Good video still, but then I did.@@beentheredonethatoriginals5673
