The problem with not countering iteration in the izzet match up is that, if they have a brain and they know you run counter magic, they just draw one burn, exile another, and make the counter magic useless. We can also assume they're simply playing 3-4 copies of each of their burn spells because they're a spells deck. Stopping the cantrip is better because it can get around our one for one counter magic. Ali's right.
