Do we see a theme here? Another Fleischmann® Starter Set, from 1971 is #6310, my box (second hand) also shows #6312 as a catalog number. It features the 0-4-0 BO Steam tank shunting loco ‘Old Black Annie’. Actually this set’s ‘Anna’ is the ‘Junior Range’ version with simplified valve gear. This set comes with a circle of brass R1 curved track and a 110volt transformer. She is pulling:
a pair of #5500 dump car for gravel/coal wagons ( actually works with optional #67 unloader and #82/5 gravel load ).
In Part Two we will add a couple more dump cars:
a Triplet of #1456/5500 orange and green dump cars,
along with the early 1970 Fleischmann® #5569 Track Cleaning Wagon.
This Junior Series model does 114.22kph ( 72.62mph ) at 50% power around my loop. We all know a typical 0-4-0 shunter will not exceed 100kph. Fairly close to last weeks identical locomotive, However; after watching the loco struggle last week, this one has been modified with 3D printed connecting rods to make it 4 wheel drive. Neither ‘Anna’ came with connecting rods, but the front drivers were equipped with a hole for a connector. I assume they had connecting rods at the beginning of their lives.
