Hi Lisa, once I trimmed The Tarot Of Enchanted Soul, it turned into one of my favourite decks, so many beautiful images. I have the Tarot of Mystical Moments too, and they look so different now, so much better. I reccomend trimming. 💞

Thanks Lisa for another insightful anti-haul. I can totally relate to how you feel about the Enchanted Soul. So much so, that I got that deck as soon as it came out and trimmed it (chopped the borders off with my guillotine cutter), and edged in a chalk finish turquoise. The results were amazing. It’s a really good reader but like you, the huge hideous borders and keywords annoyed the hell out of me!

I love guardian of the night, even tho it is animal deck, it has for me different vibe. It works with whole environment, composition and expression of the emotions as amazing intuitive reader, full of symbology. Absolutely love it, but I get why you anti haul it. I have been soooooo close to buying Antique Anatomy, but I have Marygold. I haven't gotten Kim's new Heart deck, but I love everything she does, and I probably really need it. Brilliant creator. Totally agree about Brady, she really captured something unique. I think I might get the new Saki-saki, it's been on my list for so long. I'm gonna go watch some old vids with it if I can find some, then I can remember what made me want it so much. Maybe I can talk myself outof/into it.

Your anti-hauls videos have helped me figure out if I needed or wanted more then one deck and if so why. It also helped me figure out what decks I own fill the need, or not. I love these so much. Because while it’s easy to buy a deck it’s also easy to forget what we already own and love. Oh that fomo afterwards of missing out hits hard and then when it comes back the excitement. That can hit hard. I’m wondering if the Disney/Animated ones are to youth filled for you and not fitting into your phase of life now.

I have one Oracle deck. I watched so very many flip throughs before seeing it and felt drawn to it. I got the Wild Mystic Oracle deck and I could not be happier with my choice. I do not yet have a tarot deck and I have been seriously considering the Creatures kickstarter deck. The other one I feel drawn to is The Skeleton Tarot which is a deck I found on Etsy by CatRocketship. I'm really torn between the two, but much like the Wild Mystic Oracle, I feel something about these two tarot decks.

I feel similarly to you regarding fandom decks. I don't need a bunch of different tarot decks to begin with, so I don't need a tarot deck for different fandoms. I recently got the Star Trek: TNG Tarot. It is nowhere NEAR the quality of The Last Unicorn Tarot, but it fills the fandom needy slot for me. I have a purpose for it to connect with the archetypes of tarot through characters that I already feel a deep connection to. I have the idea of pathworking in a way via the concept of the a holodeck program casting these characters as tarot archetypes. There really isn't much to the imagery of the character cards, so it all comes from my understanding of these characters. Example: What does Captain Picard have to tell me as Justice? I could use any other deck (tarot, oracle, or affirmation) to answer that.

Thank you for voicing *exactly* how I feel about ocean decks!!! I have yet to find one that works for me. I feel very connected to the ocean. I’ve almost purchased Healing Waves a few times, but even that one doesn’t quite work (though it’s the closest). Holding out hope for the right one 💙

I missed the Heart Align at backing stage and the shipping costs to buy from the store to ship to the UK are bananas (not Tsans fault at all) so I can't get one but it looks such a good deck to work with.

I did back the witchy magic tarot. I don't have anything like it & I'm so excited. Have you looked at the water temple oracle? I'm in love with it & im picky about watery Mermaid decks it's so good. I'm debating the Arthurian tarot I'm excited it's back in print but not sure how much I will reach for it. I did back a kickstarter deck that is eclectic that has Arthurian in it called Twilight of the God's the Delphi Maxim. I'm still waiting for the decolonized tarot to ship it's been a year or so.

I'm trying so hard to be better at discernment. I have the Ocean Dreams and it's beautiful and I love Danielle Noel decks but I haven't really used it. I think Ocean Dreams has a strong Lenurian vibe and not so much Earthy Ocean. So when I'm feeling like connecting to Lemuria the Ocean Dreams deck will be what I reach for but not so much when I'm craving earthy ocean. I'm not sure that makes sense.

I'm also super picky about ocean decks, and also gave Healing Waves! I do have Whispers of the Ocean but haven't worked with it yet, so I don't know if it will stay or not (I suspect not). So I'll watch with interest in case you ever find an ocean oracle that works for you, because I'd take it as a good recommendation for myself!

Sigh… the Healing Waves Tarot… I missed out on it and have been kicking myself since. I can’t imagine the money the creator is leaving on the table by not doing a reprint, but I understand it’s a stressful process and they have moved on to other projects. That would probably be my only ocean deck too - it’s more what you see on the beach instead of deep sea, which makes it easier to connect to for me (as that’s my experience of the energy of the ocean).

I’ve been considering getting the Align Oracle, but every glimpse I’ve seen of it seems like it would be very hard to read. Something with the white ink on the lightest pastel cardstock makes the words look almost invisible. Is it better in person? I love the idea of it, but I don’t want o struggle to read it!

I actually don’t think I’d want to pair up very many same-y decks from a set…. I prefer to pair decks that offer some contrast. The only thing is my soul deck is the wild unknown so I might want to pair it with the animal oracle it comes with sometimes but I also feel like I would probably mix and match much more often. One thing they i really like about a Marseille style deck is that there is a real visual difference between the majors and the minors. I love the way the majors really pop. And with using multiple decks, I want one that compliments not matches, so that the decks have some pop and contrast. And can… idk… sort of inform each other in unexpected ways

I also will not be adding the Dark Crystal Tarot to my collection. As soon as I saw it I was irritated. Lol. I'm still salty about what a terrible job Insight Editions did with Labyrinth Tarot. Two of my favorite movies growing up....turned into lazy pip decks (I assume DC will be same style as Labyrinth). Didn't buy Labyrinth, won't buy DC, or any Insight Edition fandom deck. I still need to get The Last Unicorn Tarot, not sure why I keep putting that one off. Lol.

I am always a little sad when you let go of decks you used to be enthusiastic about and that I personally love as well. I guess this is because I don‘t like to be confronted with the fact that things and people change. I guess that‘s a shadow I need to be dealing with.

I totally understand!! I can see how it could be disorienting. I have made peace with the fact that I will have incredibly powerful but shorter term relationships with some decks. There are many decks that I've had *profound* work with but later rehomed because they've already given me all they had to give and it was time to share them with others. It's actually something that's kind of beautiful! I learned a lot, actually, from the Kon Mari method - about gratitude for the time with things and not having to keep them forever to honor their gifts.

@@Lisa_Papez The KonMari method also helped me to let go of a lot of things a few years ago and I've managed to not buy a lot of stuff ever since - except for decks. Decks are different, because to me, they are not stuff but like friends or good acquaintances and I've never been good at separating from people.
