With your amazing record of awesome and creative deck builds, I must say I am looking forward to the budget version of Ygra as a budget player and one who enjoy the cards you pick for decks :) Keep up the good work

This tiptoes around the same area that Sarulf, Realm Eater functions in. He was the most oppressive deck I built. It was golgari land destruction & voltron. It warps the whole game when Sarulf is just a giant nuke each turn.

@@Nhawk316 I also wished March of the Machine: Aftermath would've had a few slots open to showcase what some of the surviving Phyrexians were doing on the time & space locked plane. I say this because we COULD'VE got a new Sarulf and/or Toski. Many people don't know this because I don't think it was in the short story that covered that set, nor mentioned as flavor text on any of the cards, but they have both been turned into phyrexian monstrosities. The only reason why some people know it, is the fact that Wizards of the Coast at one time was planning on having them in the same image for a card. Maybe this would've been one of the team-up cards but a phyrexian one, akin to Moira and Teshar. Anyways, they commissioned a rendition of both characters as machine giants but WotC never used the art... maybe the card idea was abandoned; no one knows. WotC did however tell the artist & a few other artists in similar circumstances that they were free to post those images online. Someone engrossed in the lore must've liked the artists paintings enough to follow him on X or Artstation because the day the artist released his work was the day that fan pieced it together & posted it on reddit. We missed out on like 4 main legends & I hope they will randomly make these 4 phyrexian legends the Face Commanders for a Commander precon or something. Toski Sarulf Koma Erebos

I built a Ygra the minute it got revealed. Few other notable cards: Cauldron Familiar Marionette Apprentice/Master Syr Ginger Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest Dockside Chef Moldervine Reclamation Savvy Hunter Savra, Queen of the Golgari But the big one DISPLACED DINOSAURS, being able to turn every creature, food and treasure that comes into play into a 7/7 is absolutely bonkers in this deck.

@bryanstrahm99614 ай бұрын
@rockerknight25 that's incorrect. Ygras static ability makes them into artifacts as they enter. Displaced dinos sees them as an artifact and makes them a Dino. I've seen multiple judges ratify this

Gisa Glorious Ressurector and Vraska, the silencer are nonbos with Ygra. Gisa exiles anything that would otherwise die (Ygra needs things [Food] to enter the graveyard from the battlefield to get her +1/+1 counters.) And Vraska brings things back but as Artifact Treasures and specifically mentions that they lose all other card types, this will include making them not creatures and thus no longer qualifying for Ygra's "All creatures are Food." as they're no longer creatures as per Vraska's effect.
@dylanaitor76335 ай бұрын
The myriad copies of Scion of Calamity won’t trigger Ygra because Myriad Exiles, not sacrifice. Ygra depends on food entering the graveyard. That Vraska I believe won’t trigger Ygra either, even if it does seem fun. From what it looks like, vraska removes all other types from the creatures you steal, so making them no longer a creature or a food.

Gisa won’t trigger Ygra either because it exiles instead of going to the grave so the foods never go to the graveyard
@oliverstrom30564 ай бұрын
@@midnightinfernowith gisa you just transfer control to yourself and they are sacrificed after you attack with them because of decayed so they still give counters to ygra

I always get confused when I see people adding „Haywire Mite“. Since to my understanding Ygra does turn creatures into artifact creatures. Otherwise them entering would not trigger let’s say „Canoptek Spider“ which it does afaik…can anyone clarify this for me? 😅
@dylanaitor76334 ай бұрын
@@ball0m140 I believe haywire mite is there not to destroy other creatures, but to just be a removal piece that sacrifices itself to gain benefit off of Ygra. I do think other cards could be better but it is an effective two mana artifact/enchantment removal that gives you one ygra trigger. It also can be recurred with from graveyard potentially. Not in my deck at the moment but we’ll see.
@willcube87703 ай бұрын
Idk if it was mentioned but Tergrid god of fright would also be pretty good in the deck if they decide to target your commander with removal and have to sacrifice a creature for the ward triggering tergrid and allow you to take that permanent

A deck tech full of creatures that add value when they die, and lots of effects that trigger when a creature dies or when a food is sacrificed. And then use a Khembra to put a Colossal Hammer on Yrga, or better yet cast a trample on Yrga.
@twitchster775 ай бұрын
Pulled this beast in my pre-release yesterday and it was fun! Was running a red/green aggro/midrange deck and splashed black just to be able to jam this thing in. It was pretty nasty! lol...I had a bunch of ways to pump my creatures and to give them trample...at one point in one of my games I attacked in with Ygra as a 20/20 trampler with a card in hand to give it indestructible and hexproof if needed with a card called overprotect. It was fun! :D Ended up winning all 3 rounds! (I actually won round 1 with a blue/white bird deck, then switched to my red/green round 2 and 3)

I have two Ygra and I played a game with my friends not with my Ygra deck but one in it. One friend literally tried 3 removals in one turn not understanding he had to sacrifice his only creature/food. He proceeded to die to my 24/24 Ygra and 49/49 Lord of Extinction with trample
