My son is 15 and he just posted this song on his Instagram. Makes me so sad to think that he and his generation might feel this way. But it’s totally understandable. All I can say is that my generation feel the same, underneath all the bravado. The only difference is that we got used to the feeling, internalised it and finally fell into line in exasperated resignation. We wanted your world to be happier and more secure than it is. And our lives haven’t been as good as you may think. Pushing back against those who decide the world is exhausting and eventually we realised that we needed to just give up and focus on ourselves.
