Idk if anyone will relate to this reference and I understand the ease of space and David Bowie relations but all of the new Declan stuff truly gives me hardcore Paul McCartney/Wings vibes. This piano and intertwining melodies and that distorted guitar that is almost trapped inside of perfectly sparkly glam rock platform. Lastly, all the references to Daniel give me a full response to Elton John’s “Daniel.” It’s like Declan is providing a response to the story we always wanted of Elton’s “Daniel” just as Peter Schilling brought David Bowie’s “Major Tom” back to earth 20yrs after the original songs story/release. (1969-1989). I also feel this connection not only in the piano play relation to Elton John, but in “Daniel” by Elton John the lyrics tell a sad story from Daniel and also reference his yearning and “Daniel you’re a star in the face of the sky” maybe relating to being a astronaut but all of this could be due to me being a huge music nerd.
