Declan writes circles around Harry. These are no verse chorus verse chorus bridge chorus songs. These are stories with melodic hooks! Im 40 and haven't heard songwriting like this in my generation. This is truly Lennon, Bowie, and Elton territory.
@elyy03454 жыл бұрын
@@KRDZoom1 I consider myself to be a Harry fan but I agree with you, Harry doesn't have good lyrics like Declan in my opinion, he doesn't write songs all by himself neither, also Declan plays multiple instruments. Though I consider Harry to be a better vocalist and his stage presence is insane. I think people like to compare them because their styles are alike but I don't see more similiarities. I'm going to do my job. To understand who Daniel is, just remember the words used to explain "Daniel, you're still a child": Daniel, it seems, exists as more of an idea than a person, an emotive floating figure. The song tells the story of the character Daniel, who also features on the track “Be An Astronaut”. Daniel becomes alienated from the world as he grows up, a theme that other songs on Zeros such as “The Key to Life on Earth” also cover. In an interview with Annie Mac for the song’s premiere, Declan said the song “kind of tells the story of the album, in a way”: "Someone becoming lost to the world, when there’s so much we can do in terms of acknowledging that we’re letting people down and alienating them" (Genius)
@vesselanew4 жыл бұрын
Perfectly done job! I thought about the topic and you are very right. But, hardly, teenagers /as his fans are/ reflect on alienation and other realities of life, even I guess most do not understand the meaning which Declan has put in the text.

For this reason the young people who follow him are not many, in my opinion. Do as their mothers tell them If you know what’s good for you Behave yourself this time, for me If you know what’s good for you Don’t lay around complaining all day Oh my The boys that wait along the line, and they’re not crying On and later on they will tell you what went wrong And they’ll say stop lying And you were born to be an astronaut And you’ll do that or die trying There’d be nothing wrong with it Huh-Huh Oh you waste your time! Come waste mine! Idk if anyone will relate to this reference and I understand the ease of space and David Bowie relations but all of the new Declan stuff truly gives me hardcore Paul McCartney/Wings vibes. This piano and intertwining melodies and that distorted guitar that is almost trapped inside of perfectly sparkly glam rock platform. Lastly, all the references to Daniel give me a full response to Elton John’s “Daniel.” It’s like Declan is providing a response to the story we always wanted of Elton’s “Daniel” just as Peter Schilling brought David Bowie’s “Major Tom” back to earth 20yrs after the original songs story/release. (1969-1989). I also feel this connection not only in the piano play relation to Elton John, but in “Daniel” by Elton John the lyrics tell a sad story from Daniel and also reference his yearning and “Daniel you’re a star in the face of the sky” maybe relating to being a astronaut but all of this could be due to me being a huge music nerd. If you read this far, thanks for coming along. Just a different perspective in a very David Bowie relation world. Wings songs to reference: Band on the Run, With a little Luck, Silly Love Songs, Maybe I’m Amazed. (for a relative space age kinda McCartney listen to : Magneto and Titanium Man LIVE) ALSO reference Elton John’s : Daniel 💖💖💖(( and for extra research listen to “Space Oddity” by David Bowie followed by “Major Tom” by Peter Schilling ))💖💖💖
