@@NonStopParis I usually purge my stuff with these guidelines in place: If it's not a definite yes, it's a no. Does it boost my confidence? Is it comfortable? Do I find it cute/do I look cute in it? I also prefer multi purpose pieces. I don't want something that was bought just for one specific moment or that can only be worn in very specific circumstances.

I think a good/fun rule for thrifting clothes is you can’t buy more thrifted clothes until you’ve worn all the items you got last time you went thrifting! That way I don’t make the same mistakes buying and remember what I’m actually liking

Maybe you should get a clothing rack and go shopping in your own closet to make sure you’re rotating your clothing. I felt like I had nothing to wear but still so much clothing (haha!) so I pulled out the clothing I wanted to wear for the next week and put them seperate from my other clothes. Now I do this all the time. You can make a series where you show us what clothing you’re pulling for the week or month ahead. I would really like to watch a series like that!

Girl yes!! She always pulls out a piece and is like "I haven't worn this item in 4 years...oh well, guess I should keep it for later!!" and then we'll see that item in the next closet "purge" six months from now. And you're so right about the fact that none of her clothes match, they're either really trendy and too young for her or they're old lady-ish, ill fitting and obnoxiously patterned! None of her clothes are sophisticated or timeless. She needs to chuck out like 90% of her wardrobe and build a capsule one that actually goes together. I've also noticed that most of her closet "purges" are sponsored by other clothing companies...the irony!!

Something I've been doing for a while that helps with the closet organization is sorting everything by color families. This works well for me because I probably have 5 main colors in my wardrobe with a couple of outliers. I love just looking for whatever colors I want to pair together and choosing from its dedicated section.

It would really add to the aesthetic value of your closet to organize clothes by color. That is also helpful in building coherent outfits. It might help in wearing more of your clothes, too, since you might think, "Oh, I wore a lot of blue this week, so maybe today I will go with red."

I have ridwell and they take everything, your donations and then your recyclable-only type clothes, scraps of fabric etc and I'm now inspired to go through and more thoroughly cut down on the amount of "I'll literally never reach for this" clothes. I'm a hair stylist and I ruined a ton of clothes and keep them out of guilt even when they are too bleached or stained to wear. Highly recommend anyone who has ridwell in their area to get it because it truly does help nudge that guilt away, a bit. Thanks for the inspiration, Carrie!

When I had the space I used to have one of those circular clothing racks like stores display merch on I got it at a yard sale and the man who owned it before me said he got it from a Kmart that went out of business anyway it was the best closet/storage solution because not only was everything hung up but I could easily see all my clothes at once which I loved I'm like you if something gets buried in my closet and I can't see it, I won't wear it and I hate that for us

I think cataloguing your wardrobe (on something like Indyx) or organizing your clothes based on what you wear most could help you to see what you’re actually wearing. I’ve been working through adding all my clothes on Indyx and it’s been so helpful, and it’s helped me to see what I have, what I actually wear, and if I am “missing” something in my wardrobe

Just not even 10mins ago did a clean out of 2 dressers and 2 racks of clothes. I have 4 packed full bags. 2 for my sister and 2 to donate. Beginning of spring I did summer clean out. This one was fall and winter. Still have 2 small closets to go. 1 I NEVER even go in so I know everything can go, the other keep some get rid of some. Cakes are great!! Not sticky or hard to get off, truly adhere via body heat. They come in different sizes to ensure full coverage. I definitely recommend!

Cakes are AMAZING. I just ordered a second set. I mostly wear wireless bralettes or unlined bras so they’ve really been a game changer. I’ve also worn them with my swimsuit so I don’t have to fight with the stupid pads.
