In the U.S., I've generally only felt the need need to keep paper docs for: 2 years past tax documents (but they're usually printable on demand online from employer/bank), insurance cards/info (same i.e. printable), government ID's [e.g. driver's license, passport, birth certificate, social security card], lease/property contracts, and unread mail. All could be organized in a normal, small, thin school folder if they weren't all different sized teeny cards. 😅

@@Isabel_K Ja, ich scanne alles, was man rechtlich nicht in Papierform braucht, ein. Dadurch habe ich aktuell "nur" 4 Ordner. 😆
