Hun, you have been a huge source of happiness for me these last 3 years. I’m 39, a mom of 2, and just went through my 2nd divorce. Divorce itself sucks. Divorce with kids involved is pure misery, but the ABSOLUTE worst is divorce with kids from separate marriages where your 2nd ex raised your oldest from your 1st marriage from the time she was 3 y/o until 8 yrs later when he too left the family for the co-worker (1st ex was for my “best friend”) he had been having a 2 & 1/2 yr affair with and decided he also didn’t want to be a parent anymore. My daughter’s (now 14 y/o) father is the definition of a heartless deadbeat who ironically makes time for his 3rd wife, her 4 kids from a previous marriage, and his 8 y/o son from his 2nd marriage. Does he make time for his oldest and only daughter? Only 2x a year. He owes over $80k in back child support for our daughter. Thankfully, my 2nd ex was willing and able to step up and be the constant father figure she needed...until he left 3 yrs ago. Mind you, I come from a huge family where family means everything to all of us. Ironically, the only reason my 1st ex is even remotely involved (that’s putting it mildly) is thanks to his 2nd ex. Family is everything to her and her family so when they got pregnant with their son, she pushed him to get back in our daughter’s life. She has 2 kids from a prior marriage...daughter 5 months older than mine and son 3 yrs younger. The first time my 1st ex had talked or even seen our daughter in over 3 years was when they came to her 1st soccer game just months before she turned 6 y/o and her 2nd brother (technically half-brothers but in our family, there aren’t any step or half anythings. Family is family) I had just had our son a month before. Her other brother was born 4 months later, and his birthday is 5 days after hers. I was so thankful that her entire family welcomed my daughter and treated her as their own (and still would if my ex hadn’t divorced her and ended all communication between our daughter and his ex’s family). To shorten this rambling mess, my 2nd ex left, didn’t have any contact or anything for 2 months when his parents came to visit and wanted to see the kids. Well, thankfully he started a typical every other weekend thing with our son, but completely disowned my daughter. He claims it was because he was afraid I would say he abused her (which he had never done ever to any of us until he got physical with me 3 times after being served with divorce papers in front of both kids each time). I didn’t want anything from him other than to continue his relationship with her as her dad and keep our kids together. He had witnessed everything she had been through from the 2 divorces she had gone through. He saw how devastated she was when she lost not only her father and entire paternal family from our divorce, but also the loss of her fathers 2nd ex, her kids, and her entire family. Now he wanted to separate my 2 kids who were inseparable since the day our son was born and the best of friends. Seeing her sweet face every time her brother leaves or every time he tells a story about all the vacations they go on and all the visits grandma and grandpa make is the most GUT-WRENCHING thing I’ve ever had to live through. And it never gets easier. She still misses that whole family, who also welcomed her and treated her as their own since she was 3 y/o. Watching your 14 y/o go through so much in her young life when absolutely none of it had anything to do with her is indescribable. When my 2nd ex left, she started getting into makeup and would binge watch KZbin videos on it. She got me addicted too. It became our escape. I started buying her what little I could afford (I have Multiple Sclerosis and had been a stay-at-home-mom the entire length of my 2nd marriage. I don’t get disability cuz I don’t have enough work credits due to being a stay-at-home-mom. My MS has progressed aggressively since 2014 so I literally can’t work now even if I tried.). She found her passion. To see the happiness slowly returning to her beautiful face is the most amazing thing. When I first started watching you, she said you are so pretty and loved how chill you are. She even said I look like you, which you’re way more beautiful than I ever was even when I was younger and could actually do my own makeup. So I want to thank you. Thank you for being my escape from the nasty divorce I just went through. Thank you for being a part of the reason my daughter is starting to smile more, and thank you for being the strength to help me get through all these changes that I have faced medically, financially, and mentally these last 3 yrs. Bless you if you actually read this novel I have been writing for literally almost 90 minutes. 😂 I would love to be entered in the giveaway so I could give it to my daughter. Yes, that was pretty savage. Great job! I got my first Sigma brush (the E25) in my Ipsy this year. I actually thought of you because I know you are a big fan of their brushes. It seems like a very well made brush, I get why you like them. I have a random small assortment of brushes from Ipsy and from when I was subscribed to Boxycharm. So sorry you're going through this. Feel ya', though! In all honestly, you and Kathleen Lights are the only channels i'm keeping up with, cause as well as you, I haven't been feeling well lately and some days the less I wanna do is play with makeup (add to that all the ridiculous drama surrounding some beauty influencers 🙄 that I no longer follow or care about). So what I mean is that I find your content genuine, plus I feel like you've created a safe space for those of us who actually like makeup for what it is and not for the absurd dramas and gossip. You should also consider taking some time off social networks to think and care about yourself only, sometimes that's the best we can do for our own health and sanity.
