TIP: if possible take photos of everything you have, that way you have an inventory to check, or when you are with a client to check and see if you have an item or if the spefic one you have will work, will save you alot of travelling to the unit all the time 🎉 cant wait to see what you have planned.

You did a great job! 👍 But! I think there’s only one useful thing - your photos. As for me, better to sell each item of your storage and the shelves you built and stop paying for the storage unit of course. I found all the items absolutely useless. I don’t buy and use things like this. Like in the shop for only one house, not mine. 🎈

Amanda, just a thought but perhaps take a photo of each of your shelves so you can see at a glance what you have or perhaps it is worth taking a pic of each item and making an inventory and you can add as you get more items and subtract as you use or get rid of them. You could do the same for paint that you have and stuff like that. Good luck to you and Kyle on your Room Rescue endeavors! I wish Australia was viable. lol😂

A great idea is to take photos of all the shelves to be able to physically see what you have on hand so when you are out thrifting/shopping, you can quickly scan through your picture inventory to see if you already have something. ~Chris

Love farmhouse. Love the laundry sign you were decluttering. The unit looks great. I want to work on the family room. We need to empty it out to put the flooring down. It's so cluttered. But not all of it is mine which makes it frustrating. I want to make half of it my craft area or put the kids in there. We live in a split level. Right now they share the laundry area.

Our huge project to organize is the garage. My logic is that I am saving the garage for last as I declutter the inside of the house room by room and donate items along the way. It's definitely a process. Your storage room looks so much better! I can see it being a useful space for future room rescue projects.

The boys did a great job helping. I’ve been in a decluttering mode for the past six months. I’m currently working on my closet and have sent six bags filled to the hills to ThredUp, and a few bags to our local charity store. I have an eclectic style with a bit of modern farmhouse thrown in.

Here is a tip. Once you have organized your shelves with product, make a small video of each shelf for a quick inventory scan. This worked really well for me. Decluttering feels sooo good once its done!

I’m in Arizona too and have a storage unit. They raise the prices so much constantly. Have you dealt with that? So far we have switched storage unit places 3 times because of it.

I still love the farmhouse style especially because we live on a farm in southeastern Idaho 🐴🐮🐄🐑 I have been cleaning out our linen closet and boy, just tossing out all of the expired over the counter medication cleared a shoebox sized container that gave me extra room. Not going to fill it back up.

Make sure your insurance covers your storage unit. Recently the roof on the facility where we have stored items for years was being repaired and, unfortunately, a storm came through. We received a recorded message asking us to check our unit for damage. Thankfully, our unit was dry. I realize if there had been damage that another party should be responsible for reimbursing us for any damage. But you never know. Typically, storage facilities require you to have insurance - whether through your homeowners insurance or purchasing coverage through them.

Love how it all turned out! Definitely place all the pillows in vacuum sealed bags. Last thing you need is the mice/rats to pee or make a nest between them.

Let's see...what area do I need to declutter and organize? Does my whole house count? But really...my closet again. This time one of the rods fell so now I have to figure out if I can fix it or if I have to hire someone. Plus the whole closet is a dumping zone. So I have a lot of work to do. I always think about how good it will feel when it's done 💜💙💚💛🧡 p.s. If you have some quality Farmhouse style items that would be costly to replace I would keep it. You may get a family that likes Farmhouse. Just a thought. p.s.s. You might want to use the Space Bags bc mice like fluffy areas. My Mom's storage unit guy told her to put down mouse bait...that was years ago so there may be a more natural way to keep mice and rats out???

Wow what a difference… just an idea for your cloth items(pillows, blankets) you can use a vacuum seal bag and just take a picture of what is in it and put on the outside… they are lifesavers and it protects from dust etc♥️ cannot wait to see the first room rescue 🙌🏻

Hello Amanda, it's amazing how some shelves help to get things neat and tidy. In a storage unit always keep things in plastic tight containers. Cardboard can be nibbled by different insects and small animals. I would never leave any clothes or textile out, it gets dust and who knows if pee and poop. I wouldn't be able to use those cushions or any rug. I would keep memorabilia home to take a look at it from time to time. If I keep something I want to enjoy it. Although having a unit for seasonal decoration, specially Xmas things is a great idea. Maybe you could make inventory of your deco things so that you don't buy double, with pictures to know exactly what prints you have, for example. Thanks for the inspiration.

Hello there Amanda, hope all is well. Its so good to be here watching you organizing. Just a thought if you have a bigger backyard then it's cheaper to get your own shed. I am sure you are paying monthly for the storage. You can have someone built it for you or checkout Tuff shed. We have one custom made from Tuff Shed and its 10×11. Just a thought. Also is it a good idea to leave your cushions without covering meaning wrap it and put in the storage bins so it won't get dusty or dirty??. Because no matter how clean it is now, you will have cobwebs and dusts??

Its so interesting watching this episode as I am moving soon and I had to get a storage unit. I really like your idea of shelves, but I decided to number my boxes and log them in a book so I would know what's inside. I also left a center aisle so that I can access the boxes and totes easily. I do know that if I need a lower numbered box, it will be near the back of the unit with the higher numbers near the front. I do hope I will not have a mouse problem and will have to check every month to see if there is evidence of them. UGH!

Something that crossed my mind when you held up the Christmas sign. Why don’t you hire yourself out to decorate for Christmas. You have lots stuff so it would be easy. Or, just do for content. You have such excellent taste that people would be lucky to have you do their home. Just a thought
