Might as well have saw cut it if it was still gonna crack and look messy, at least the saw cut would've looked straight

What if you were to run a deep jointer then close it up with the bull float would it have the same effect?
@DecoCreteTV4 жыл бұрын
No, the concrete would bond back together at that point. Thanks for watching Rocco!

Good job. how much spacing between joint

It depends on the slab, but you would use the same rules as saw-cutting.

Bar up

We use a soff cut blade thickness of .100” which is less than an 1/8” wide. These zip strips have opened up and chipped off on a jagged run with rebar in it. Absolutely waste of a product.

"kind of rusty" - you let your rebar sit right on the bottom. that's wrong
@kidsstuff79542 жыл бұрын
You are correct. The rebar needs to be at about 1/3 the depth of the concrete, measured from the top. For a 6" slab, it should be 2" from the top. The bar resting on the substrate like that is doing nothing to control cracking. Chairs are cheap and the rebar being at the correct depth will make a big difference in reducing cracking.
