Thanks for great job. Its beautiful. I have same questions as like Motaz Fdlalmula. 1. Why acceleration instead of load pattern or mode? 2. The building is symmetric. The stiffness variation (Sw, columns & Beams) along two directions are nearly close. But "Push y" shows a lot plastic hinge. Building goes to failure mode only 3 steps. I think the Degree of freedom (DOF) of Monitored displacement for Load case "PAy" have to "U2" instead of "U1"

Thank you, sir, for the video about Pushover Analysis. I have a couple of questions. My first question is, some hinges showed red colour which means the structure will fail as the hinges break, what do we do to prevent the hinges from breaking by showing either green, pink or blue colours, so the structure won't collapse. The second question is can we perform Pushover Analysis without linear analysis and get the reinforcement? And at what level do we consider Pushover Analysis even after performing the linear analysis? Please sir, also try to do a video for Nonlinear staged construction so we can understand when to perform such analysis. Thank you sir

Pushover analysis is a performance based analysis, that means you can have an idea about how your structure will behave during earthquake-for that you need to design it first. After the pushover analysis if you know that some of members from your structure are going to fail, then revise their dimensions and recheck for pushover analysis.

why we perform pushover analysis for RC buildings? As concrete is having different property than steel .We assumes after a certain load the plastic hinges are formed in the steel but the failure mechanism for RC building is different

While defining PAy case, you didn't change monitored displacement direction to U2. That is why the structure failed in Y direction analysis.

Thanks for your job. But I have a question: I have found that: when two PMM hinges are inserted at the same point ( as you did in the tutorial - hinges for Pax and Pay load cases ) displacement capacity increase almost twice than just one hinge is inserted; In the case we must push the building to -X and -Y directions and four PMM hinges will be inserted at the same point then displacement capacity increase so much ?

Sir before Push over analysis the reinforcements found from the linear analysis should be saved and the hinge properties should be defined by the program automatically as per these reinforcements. But in your presentation it is not clear how you saved these reinforcements. Could you please clarify. Thanks in advance

After running design we have moved to Pushover analysis. That last design reinforcement is saved as ''Current Design" in the program Automatically. There's no manual option to save the reinforcement. That's why there's a option in Auto Hinge assignment Data ''Reinforcing Ratio from -Current Design". Thanks for your valuable comment.

Yes, in pushover Curve The Demand Spectrum curve is intersected with Capacity curve to get performance Point, this Demand Curve can be generated from Response Spectrum Analysis 👍
