Please do 2pac’s 1995 classic album me against the world because it’s own, removed from the hype, me against the world is just a very quality record that finds an artist coming into his own through the influence of his peers, both local and musical.

I love this album. I love the carefree spirit and experimentation. It astounds me when people are expecting artists to stay and keep mimicking their former era of "successes" when being a true artists is all about experimenting, evolution and looking into the future, being a visionary. Beyonce is reclaiming another piece of black heritage in my opinion. This is OUR sh!t and there's nothing wrong with our favorites exposing their listeners to something new and opening that musical palette. I cant wait to see what the other projects have in store, Country maybe?

I couldn’t agree with you more. It’s so inspiring! I heard there will be country music and I am definitely here for it! I loved when she performed on the CMT Awards. @@onlysymbols that’s unfortunate for them. Luckily for Beyoncé, she doesn’t seem to care either way. It reminds me that we create what’s authentic to us and don’t put such a huge focus on getting others to recognize us. I’m no one’s “stan” but I enjoy watching Beyoncé’s growth as an artist. Black women musicians are rarely bestowed the title of musical genius. Beyoncé is a musical genius. Period. She knows who to enlist to obtain her vision just like any other extraordinary record producer (Quincey Jones) does. With each listen of her whole catalog (including Renaissance) I am amazed.

I actually cry when listening to some of the songs. I know that may seem weird to some because the album is mostly about dancing and having a good time, but in some of those party songs I hear the antidote for some of the most trying times in my life. She captures how I feel now that I’m on the other side and this allows the most “ratchet” songs to become a spiritual experience of self love and gratitude for who I am today…. And it feels amazing to shake my ass to something like that! 😜 Thank you for this profound piece on an amazing body of work!✨

Very interesting commentary. My perspective differs, however. To me, Beyoncé is not an artist who reveals herself through her music. She lets people in with little nuggets here and there, but mostly she’s fiercely private. The fact that she doesn’t do interviews is also telling of this. In my opinion, she holds back even more so with Renaissance by singing mostly in 3rd person. If singing in 1st, she often portrays characters. For example, in “break my soul,” when she talks about quitting her job and being worked so hard. She’s obviously trying to relate to us common folk because who’s bossing around Beyoncé - the supposed Queen almighty? Or is she not? There could be someone behind the scenes that is doing that, record label or a corporation maybe, but she would never disclose this because it would be too revealing.

Yeah you’re onto something. Beyoncés not the type let us gather anything about her personal life🤣 And she doesn’t have to. I will say I was surprised that Renassiance is so surface. I think a part of it is some people not knowing how to deal with an album that wasn't made for them. The album being an ode to black LGBTQ & ballroom & having different fragments of those groups imbedded in it was hard for some people to get, like certain phrases she used & her commentating in heated's outro most ppl who knew what it was were excited over the references to artists of the genre & loved how deep she delved into the culture while a lot of people that didn't know were quick to make fun of it or question what she was doing . And some people wanted her to go back to her old sounds from her older albums rather than experiment.

The album is…entertainment. The album is not genuine in the sense that if you study her as an artist, one of many perspectives you may arrive at is that she is not as transparent as you think…and certainly NOT on this album. The image she presents on stage and in her music is totally opposite of what actually does get revealed about her life in the press. No interviews? There’s a reason. Talking in the 2nd or 3 person on her songs? Disconnect. Again, there’s a reason. The messages in her songs ranging from being in control, how beautiful she is, etc., etc.? Again, it’s manufactured that way for a reason. Live long enough and you realize when you REALLY have it going on, there’s a quietness about you. No need to flex. At this point I’m almost convinced that behind the veil, there’s a woman that has more fear, insecurity, hurt, feeling of being trapped, lost and bewilderment than she’ll probably either never could reveal or admit.
@nonnieJ942 жыл бұрын
This is along the lines of my thoughts. For those who have actually grown up with Beyoncé know that she’s been on stage singing/performing since she was a very young child. There’s been interviews and little snippets along the way that have eluded to the fact that she had no control over her life especially during the formative years of her solo career and during destiny’s child. That elevator scene with her sister and husband was very telling to me.

If you think about it, she rides the wave of pop culture for every release and tries to relate to the middle and lower classes.That's what she does. She capitalizes off of the social issues; even though some of the things she says might not have anything to do with her. That is why in "Who run the world" she talks about hardworking women, while in "Break my soul" She talks about quitting her job. She sees the social changes every year and incorporate those messages in her songs and will try to relate. Not saying no one else does it, but it's nothing new.

She was also mocked by the black community as well as the mainstream white media for her drug addiction too. Those shit were very hurtful to her. Just bc someone dies does NOT mean that we can erase their History. So stop using Whitney as an example when she wasn't treated better by thé black community or the mainstream media as Beyoncé either when it comes to misogynoir. And the real Queen ? WTF does that even mean ? There's multiple Queens WEIRDO. Beyoncé just dropped the Break My Soul (Queens remix) featuring Madonna aka The Queen of Pop
@shadowgoon9112 жыл бұрын
@@chrisman3431 That was one moment in her career, the black community always stood behind Whitney. She was honored at the BET Awards while alive and at the height of her drug addiction. Beyonce overrated she's trying to use all of these women to benefit her own career push. All of Beyonce career she's been saying she's been acting like she's the only top black female. She even has a song on her album called "Alien Superstar", saying she's the only one and no one can compete with her. She only made that remix to sell a song while it's trendy to give props. She's a fake. But whatever. She's no genius, all of her songs are about her body, money, and toxic relationships. Never call her a genius when real artist have more range.

Yall ain't no real Beyonce fans because if you were you would realize this ain't even the same woman. This is a body double. All of these mishaps with her music, the video they leaked of her and Jay walking into her Renaissance party she is seen looking up in the air as if the setting is new to her. Some of her other pics she looks very different.

BEYONCÉ IS A MUSICAL GENIUS period !❤ SHE DON'T NEED ANY MUSIC VIDEO OR PROMOTION FOR HER MUSIC TO DOMINATE THE MUSIC INDUSTRY AND I'M SO SORRY (i'm not) BUT Y'ALL FAVE COULD AND WOULD NEVER BE LIKE HER !...🎉 (but if she decide to give us the visual and more live performance we would bee so happy)😊😊😊

I would urge you to correct one very important part in this video! The part about her looking for validation from a man. I cannot say, that I ever heard that in her music, but if it were there, it most certainly was NOT on her album "BEYONCÉ", especially not the track "Partition". That song is all about sex, fighting the misconception that feminists don't love having sex [with a man]. It was after her giving birth to Blue Ivy and feeling like a sexy woman again. It's pure passion and pleasure for both (her and Jay 🙂)!

Beyonces new album is boring, underwhelming with just the slightest of personality that makes it bearable. The only reason it’s getting the attention it’s getting is because… drum roll please…… ITS BEYONCÉ I also find it comical that you say “Beyoncé no longer cares about money, status, capitalism” because she made a few watered down disco tracks saying so. 😂 Beyoncé is a smart and calculating woman, she’s pandering to an easy demographic- the gays, there’s nothing in her day to day life that has changed.

The concept Is nice however lyrically It was lazy, Immature, vulgar & boring definitely. It doesn't suit her. I'm not saying she can't experiment, however It feels not genuine. Her worst album .

I’m so glad to see so much love and appreciation for her “why” behind this body of work. There’s already so many people saying she’s just exploiting an audience that being those that love house music and LGBT groups. It’s so annoying, derogatory, and dumb. Completely baseless claims because music lovers and LGBT from any and everywhere have BEEN crazing over Yonce

Please do 2pac’s 1995 classic album me against the world because it’s own, removed from the hype, me against the world is just a very quality record that finds an artist coming into his own through the influence of his peers, both local and musical.

As much as I am gay, I have to share my dislike towards this album. It has no purposeful meaning for me, as most of it is dark and senseless. I've disliked Beyonce's music since after 4. Yes, every artist needs to stay current, but that is the problem with music as of late. It becomes so futuristic that it loses meaning, purpose. When I listen to music, I want to get meaning and purpose from it, not just 'feel good' because of its beat. That is what I miss about music.
@gbbs92 жыл бұрын
I get this. But I’d argue that Beyoncé is not that meaning and purpose artist. Even her best songs from 4 and before (which are my favorites) are rnb pop tracks that get you up and dancing or rnb ballads that don’t really say anything about her love. Lemonade being the exception. I mean she’s definitely keeping up with current trends with Renaissance but imo she’s always been a feel good artist.

This is the most unoriginal album that she has ever done in her career. there’s so much obvious sampling that is being done it makes album not as great as her others. This vibe is not really her to begin with it seems like she’s trying to use a personal tragedy inspire yet to latch onto the vibe that is not hers.
