Natasha lived rent-free in Carrie's mind. The fact that Natasha didn't beat the shit out of Carrie for catching her in her home and having an affair with her husband shows how much class she has. Natasha was everything that Carrie wasn't but wished she was. Carrie was cool with being the other woman, but didn't want to be seen as the bad guy.

Natasha was totally Big's type and I'm almost sure that she was the reason he was going to move to Paris all of a sudden. Carrie always struck me as his side chick. After all, he never introduced her to his mother and when he did introduce her to one of his friends, he mistook her for another girl. Yet Carrie was delulu enough to believe he actually valued her and wanted a serious relationship with her when everything he did was a red flag.

Oh honeyyy, when she showed up to the church where he and his mother were and dropped the Bible, I was so embarrassed for her 😩 I agree. Carrie ignored all of the signs with Big. He married her in the end, but it seemed like she felt unfulfilled, I think she loved the games and dysfunction more than she did Big.

@@iconicallyiconic She married with him because Deus Ex Machina. The writers wanted to give her a happy ending despite every single red flag in the previous seasons. Honestly, if she had realized what a toxic relationship she had with Big and decided to go her way, return to NY and keep writing, I would have hated her character less. Oh, and totally! That scene was physically painful to watch. I was SO fucking embarrassed for her. Like, girl, stand up!

Big never took Carrie seriously and it wasn’t until the season one finale that she finally realized that he didn’t love her. I’m not a Big fan, however, I didn’t blame him for being upset when Carrie showed up to Mr. Big’s church just to meet his mother after he told her not to. It pretty much shows that Carrie has no fucking boundaries. And then got mad when he introduced her “like a friend”. She gets on my nerves

Natasha was always warm and gracious to Carrie pre-marriage to Big and during her marriage to Big. It was Big and Carrie that were the bad ones. I don't trust women who identify with and get upset at people who don't like Carrie, a woman who was always in competition with the next woman, a pick me, a woman who was jealous of her friends and slept with a married man just because she felt like he was still hers in some way. We all make mistakes, but Carrie knows exactly what she's doing and does it well into her 50s. There are women out here who act just like Carrie and see nothing wrong with their behavior and love to point the finger at others for why they did this or that rather than taking accountability for their own actions. She wreaked havoc in Natasha's life and thought Natasha owed her something... talk about a self-centered person. Natasha was beautiful, classy, had self-esteem and didn't need a man to validate her, she knew she was that girl even if Carrie wanted to lie to herself and call her "boring" Natasha's presence alone spoke for itself.

What you said about the best revenge being “having peace and living well” is so true. I wish some women would understand that, having someone just to have to someone who is doing nothing but adding stress to your life is not a win and it does no good for your health. I loved that Natasha knew her worth and walked away doing what was best for her and not to try to prove a point like so many women do. I wanted there to be an episode from Natasha’s POV- her confronting Big, the conversation they had etc. Carrie always liked to play victim when she was clearly the villain

Natasha was 25 and Big was in his 40s, now I don't find like a 5-10-year age difference wrong when the woman is in her 30s because I feel like that's when we've matured most and know what we like, have a bit more experience with how to navigate in relationships etc. but for him to have had 20 years on her was strange, you barely had anything in common aside from wealth and you go and prove it when you cheat on her with Carrie. Natasha deserved much better than that, he couldn't even tell Carrie exactly why his marriage "wasn't working out" they were all minor things. He and Carrie didn't like people who genuinely loved them and weren't toxic. Her with Aiden and him with Natasha

Carrie was obsessed with all the aspects of Natasha that Big chose to leave her for. The obsession comes from the fact that she will never be that way, and can't come to terms. I think the disfunction from Carrie came because it really messed with her self confidence and ego. Carrie often struggled with matters of the ego, and codependency. This is just my observation, but she often dismissed what her friends would say if it did not align with her "fantasy" of the moment. Carrie is a creative, emotional, and a free spirit - the trouble with that is that people like us don't seem to "grow up" with the rest around us. The fact that Natasha handled the situation so well, the entire time, messed with Carrie too. She could not stand that the more she fought against Natasha and Big being together, the more embarrassing it made her look. Carrie probably also really respected Natasha's archetype, seeing that Big fell so hard for her, AND the fact Big couldn't articulate his real emotions, I can see how it confused Carrie all the more. Carrie sees Big with Natasha and thinks, "this is the life Big was searching for, that's what he meant when he said he couldn't commit to me", and she says that part aloud. What she's thinking and not telling everyone, but you see in her actions, "I need to see what the big difference between her and me is, seeing that she is acting so opposite than me in this situation, I know I am in the wrong. I can't stand the thought of Big with someone else, but I know he can't be happy with me, however, if I can show him that I am better by disregarding my self worth and being wherever he needs me for an affair, perhaps I will win him over and show them BOTH that I am better and worthy of this." Of course this messes with Carries perception of herself and that becomes obvious when we see she just can't face Natasha. She knew she f*ed up, and she knew deep down she was way better than that behavior. We can tell Natasha's inner monologue is probably a bit calmer, but we KNOW she's at least thinking "man, I really hope I am wrong about all this," you can tell she really doesn't want the beef with Carrie, to be fighting over a man. Carrie couldn't get over the ego wound Big gave her when he cheated and left, and instead of aligning herself more with her own words from her column and with herself and her friends, she actively chose to pursue the favor of a Red Flag Man. Big also probably would have grown and had a happy life with Natasha if Carrie hadn't been so receptive of his stupidity. At the end of the day, I still blame the man. Big was a POS, never deserved Carrie OR Natasha imo with his manspreading all over the world, if that dude just knew what he wanted and acted like a good person, neither of those good women would have had to deal with any of this- I just wish there was a deleted scene somewhere of Samantha kicking him in the b@lls because I know she'd have been the one just waaaaaiting to do it for years.

It’s crazy after their affair is no longer a secret, they stop seeing each other as well. Like, what is as it all for? If they didn’t stay together, then it was just an attempt to break out of their commitments to their partners.

I never felt bad for Carrie throughout the affair and the aftermath of it all. She brought it all on herself. Aiden and Natasha deserved so much better. I love the show and I love the relationship with the girls but, jeezo, Carrie really pissed me off during seasons 3 and 4. Kinna wish she had ended the show single instead of running back to the toxic bag of red flags yet again.

Back then, even fans bashed the actress because the show painted Natasha as the one who “took big away.” In retrospect, people have finally seen how toxic Carrie was and Natasha was the true victim. Carrie was the protagonist, so we were wired to see things from her point of view… but we’re older and with video essays like this, it makes us look at things from a different view.

I really like Natasha and I think that she is a victim of Carrie and big especially big because he promised this woman a good life and everything else and then goes and cheat on her and then she finds his mistress in the apartment. It ended up like having to get surgery on her face like she is the real victim

When Carrie walked up to Big at that party in the hamptons asking Big "is that really you" girlllll get uppppp, she was so thirsty. That behavior would be okay if she was in her early 20s or late teens, but you're being a rude mean girl because you see him with another woman and y'all broke up. Natasha had her in her feelings. A beautiful, elegant woman who she couldn't get a reaction out of. I agree with everything you said. You clocked all Carrie's tea lol I would love if you did a video on Mel from Scandal.

Can we talk about how all her white outfits were predestined and cleaned? No stained, killed it in each look, did not have to try. Maybe in another world, Natasha could have been Charlotte, Miranda, and Samantha's friend.

Natasha was a truly high-value woman, I find myself mesmerized by her character, and how she carries herself and only exists, she is mysterious, classy and the type of person who doesn't put her energy and waste her time into people like Carrie, that's why Carrie constantly stalks her and wants her approval because she hates her, but also hates the fact that she can't tolerate not being more like her. Also Big had a case of ''Madona whore complex'' that's why he settled for Natasha for the clean image she represented to society but he wasn't fully invested in her since he is a liar and a cheater as well as Carrie. Natasha is not only a beautiful face, she's the ultimate goal and her only existence lives in Carrie's head rent-free

Natasha was 100% a victim. She was in her early to mid 20s when she married “Mr Big” So I think had Natasha been in her mid 30s she would have been more aggressive towards Carrie. I think the fact she chased Carrie out of her apartment showed her bravery and self worth.

What I found kind of funny was that Carrie tried to make her out to be this bitch, but she was so polite and kind that she couldn’t. But at the same time, I still wish Carrie learned that she didn’t fulfill the image of perfect woman she had in her head, and that Natasha made her feel inadequate. Carrie needed to learn to accept herself and love herself.

I loved natasha. I see why Big picked her. Carrie was trashy next to her. Desperate, pick me, crazy insecure, delusional, and self-absorbed. Carrie wouldn't give Big the time of day if he didn't have money. She NEVER talks about what she actually liked about him. Both Big and Carrie were cheaters. I think he respected natasha far more than Carrie in terms of her intelligence.

SMH. GOOD GRIEF. As I've said in the comments section for the Charlotte video, Carrie Bradshaw is the reason why I never really liked this show. Seems like her character gets much, much worse as she is analyzed. It's bad enough that she treats Charlotte like crap due to jealousy. But, constantly making judgments about Natasha, a woman she barely knew except for the fact that Big was married to her at one time, breaking her heart when she cheated with Big, and then kept stalking and harassing her is ATROCIOUS. Natasha was nothing but gracious and classy to her. I'm now wishing that there was a show about Natasha instead of Carrie. I would've loved to see her day-to-day life through her eyes. And yes, I wished that she would've been friends with Charlotte. Also, I had no idea that Carrie was still stalking Natasha in AJLT. I find that VERY DISTURBING AND ANNOYING. I wish that Natasha would've exclaimed, and excuse my French, "What the fuck is wrong with you?!" This right here shows that Carrie never changed. She is stuck in her ways. Whereas, Natasha moved on and has a wonderful life. Yes, the best revenge is living a successful, happy life. Not to mention, the trash took itself out when it came to Carrie still not being satisfied after she was able to finally have Big and marry him.

Natasha was the epitome of what Carrie couldn't be- tall, classy, successful working with Ralph Lauren and got the ring out of Big long before her. He was ready to marry Natasha without coercion and make her his wife, yet with Carrie is was just dating and her eventually as the side chick. Yes in the first movie he married carrie but not before jilting her. Natasha is someone that she aspires to be but doesnt get to be, for all of carries fashion and designer clothing it looks try hard next to Natasha's innate chicness and modelesque grace. Natasha lives rent free in her head because calling her names and trying to level her down with nastiness doesnt work in reality, it takes nothing away from her. At the end of the day carrie envies everything about her- her style, her class, her success and her ability to fit into Bigs life seamlessly

I wanted to add this because it needs to be said. ALOT of older women are jealous of younger women, they're mean and condescending and look at you as if you know nothing and deserve to be disrespected because you're young. Meanwhile they were the worst in their younger days. I remember my first day working as a teacher, almost all of the older women were so rude and dismissive of anything I had to say, they thought their way was the only way. I am very outspoken, so I kindly nipped that in the bud, but I see it so much with my colleagues and they're always so scared to speak up. That's why another reason why Carrie didn't like Natasha, she felt like because she was older than her she should bow down to her and accept her disrespect, because she was young and didn't "understand" her and Big's "love", a lot of older women still behave like mean girls, they haven't matured and take their bitterness out on young women. I also don't like younger women who are condescending to older women.

I loved Natasha and how she carried herself throughout all of Carrie and Big's affair. She already knew what was up and quickly excorted out without causing a scene or fight. She gave Big one chance and he blew it, which is why that million dollar guilt check was quickly sent her way. Both Carrie and Big carried themselves like dumb 20 year olds while the actual 20 something year old carried herself with grace and dignity and I think Carrie wished she was that which is why she not only stalked Natasha but would go out to seek her approval but she could never be Natasha
