CHAN hard to tell, maybe we’ll never eradicate cancer. And even if we do who know what will rise in it’s place.

We are already using treatments like these. Immunotherapy has become the fourth pillar of cancer treatment (With the other three being surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy). While it is not a stand-alone treatment for cancer that can "Cure" patients, when used in conjunction with the other modalities its promise is to move cancer from being the devastating disease it is seen as now, towards being viewed as a disease that can be managed similar to that of a chronic disease such as HIV.

@@Gasmanz I work in an Interventional Radiology department. We get access into the femoral artery and run a catheter into the common hepatic artery (in the liver). We find the arteries feeding tumors and inject beads that have chemo attached to them directly into the arteries feeding the tumor. We use Y-90 on occasion.

Well, "cancer" describes a wideranging class of disease processes. So there will never be one ultimate treatment. But we might one day have a response to every kind of tumor.

i think humanity could do really well with the development of a functional quantum computer. Having it at our disposal to solve these algorithmically complex and intense patter matching problems would not be a difficult task for a quantum computer. And we might finally have a solution to this cancer problem once and for all.

how about don't target by "if it's wrong, kill it", but a "if it's not normal, kill it" - you don't have to know what exactly is the mutation just need to know what 'normal' is

it's not as simple as right and wrong there's so many mutations in the body which might or might not show ...maybe it's hard to target the one single mutation that will cause cancer
