Having better OG's and Kincaid with his size and abilities will make a huge difference next season. And a healthy Gave Davis should be back to form. We saw early last year what he can do when he's healthy but his ankle slowed him down so much and it showed.

Guard is for sure a spot that needs improvement. Davis is a stud when healthy. Just watch what he did in the Steelers game.

Yup and now hordes of Bills fans are screeching for Davis to get benched, traded, etc lol... in what kind of fantasy world is every player on a football team gonna be a perfect machine all the time? Maybe some of the saltiest of Bills fans would do well to get therapy for their angst that the Bills haven’t won a Lombardi yet and quit taking their bullshit out on all the players and staff

While some of the issues this year were maybe a little on Dorsey, fans need to give him a little slack as he was in his first year had one of his slot receivers out for the year and the other with drop issues, a horrible offensive line, his qb with an injured throwing elbow, and a defense that let them down in the playoffs. And even with that he still managed to produce a very solid product until the final game.

And somehow all those issues got fixed and he got worse…

People talk junk about Dorsey but i think even though he had his growing pains at times, he had to deal with offensive line issues and trying to incorporate players into the offense slowly. We got shakir and hines who should both be more comfortable this year and have good production (especially shakir wouldnt be surprised to see him anywhere from 34 to 50 catches this year).

Excellent video. It leaves me wondering which coaches _tell_ their QBs the details, which QBs can see the facets for themselves etc. & which ones just throw it where they're told, & which would _prefer_ to know these things but the coaches prefer not to tell them. Cousins is a "just throw it where we tell ya" kind of guy. Roethlisberger knew what he _didn't_ like doing & forced his OC's hands yet still did well. Allen looks like he at least understands what to look for when the routes go as planned whereas Mahomes strangely plays better the more there's chaos. I got the feeling early this season that Fields was Bored To Tears but that is likely because there were no Real Offensive Schemes. I don't think he _needs to_ know everything, but he also likely needs there to be multiple things for him to look for. This is fun! I wonder if this is the first video of yours I've seen?

Interestingly enough, Mahomes has one of the highest 1st read throw percentages in the league, meaning there is a lot of predetermined schemed up throws he makes. Not really surprising considering the amount of passing yds from YAC vs air yds he had. Not to mention, 75% of his TD passes were within 0-10 yds. He's obviously tremendous, but Andy Reid doesn't get nearly enough credit.

@@jonathanp.4487 Cripes he's turning into Brady now? I'm not sure I agree with your conclusions though that it's Reid's play-calling. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mGXCcoqYba1lndE shows that Mahomes #1 target _isn't_ being forced into narrow "go exactly here or there" routes. Then again, Warner tends to have tunnel vision & not look at how the other routes may help open those spaces so I'm not sure he *isn't* responsible. Despite his success, I'm not an Andy Reid fan. He always tried to force every QB he had to play long-ball (Alex Smith, Donovan McNabb) whether he had the receiving corps to do it with. It was as if he treated receivers like video game NPC avatars that automatically caught whatever pass you called to be thrown. Steve Young was so terrible as a starter he became a back-up. But with Jerry Rice he was MVP. Same with Rich Gannon who did _not have_ years on the bench to excuse his rise to that status on. McNabb's stats went down after T.O. left the Eagles. Brady literally doubled his TD production the One Year he had Randy Moss to throw to. If Reid has made any change, it was seeing that the short plays turned into longer ones because of Mahomes. But not _before_ Mahomes. & that was a _LOT_ of years of doing the same thing & expecting different results, hence my dislike of him. He *earned* my dislike.

I do think Ken Dorsey is a good coordinator the only issue I have with him is he likes to throw the ball too many times instead of trying to be more balanced on offense. The bills need to find a way to use the running backs to run the ball instead of relying on Josh Allen to be there running game 80% of the time
@jonathanp.4487
@jonathanp.4487 Жыл бұрын
He ran less than Daboll did the 2 years prior. We had a 59% pass rate, just 11th highest. And 8 of the top 11 in pass rate made the playoffs. Why? Well, bc passing is more productive, efficient, harder to defend, and scores more points & the obvious reason...teams with great QBs throw the ball more. Integrate the running game in a more seamless manner, and a with a better flow, sure. But running MORE? That would be a mistake.
@thecharmcityplayerbrandona8827
@thecharmcityplayerbrandona8827 Жыл бұрын
@@jonathanp.4487 the bills offense needs to be more balanced because if you be 80 or 85% throwing a football and less running then your offense is going to be predictable that way defensive coordinators can see through it.

I think Dorsey is on the hot seat. With all the weapons he has been given he has not performed. He has been out-coached . Yea, I know they won 13 games, that's all players not coaching. KC & the Bengals both put a hurt on Buffalo on National TV. Now he has a huge TE and he has a variety or running backs. NO EXCUSES THIS YEAR!

Are you dumb bro? KC put a hurt on the Bills on Natl Television? Buf won that game, wtf are you talking about? And "all the weapons he had last year?" Really? They had Diggs and am injured Gabe Davis. This year they have decent weapons but its certainly not a top 10 group. You have no clue. Just looking for someone to blame. Imagine how much better the offense would look last year if the OL wasn't garbage, our WRs didn't lead the league in drops, and our QB wasn't injured. And they were still the 2nd ranked offense.

I can say why. The Bengals had obviously studied the Bills' offense & created ways to plan for it in the playoffs. You could even tell that the Bengals were prepared to adjust once the Bills did. That's what wins playoff games, plans _AND_ in-game adjustments. & the Bills didn't make a single one. Having no Plan B is beyond terrible. That's amateur hour. Mahomes doesn't stick to plan A. I'd give him the benefit of the doubt except there no way anyone should have to tell him this. Btw, the same problem exists now in Philadelphia. Sirianni is in _WAY_ over his head & those last 2 TDs by the Chiefs in the super-bowl were both called for _AFTER_ Andy Reid had called Two Other Plays to see how the Eagles' defense would react. The players on the field saw what was about to happen & tried, but the coaches didn't do a damned thing to prepare for the 3rd & 4th times & they both ended up with wide-open receivers for TDs while the Eagles looked out-matched. It's not always a good thing to take great coordinators & assume they can handle full coaching duties. They can't all Hackett.
