John could have had point in the possibly simple lyrics, But the Melody of which the song was sung, was Crafted to make such an Amazing Impression… that leaves us wanting to a long Lasting & Never Ending musical Bliss

@@cybertech-zn3ws from 1970 to 1980, John seemed to judge all of his work purely on its lyrics and gave little consideration to the music or production that completes the songwriting process.

Everyone says this is tremolo guitar but it’s george on his Tennessean using the Bigsby whammy bar
@DLD2Music2 жыл бұрын
sorry, I already know, I don't know how to say that in English, here it is called lever
@mclennon4everyes7382 жыл бұрын
Yeah, we live in latin america. Here in latin america, we say Tremolo to bigsby.
@sejrec562 жыл бұрын
Well it’s neither Tremelo or Whammy, it’s a vibrato arm. And I could never understand how Fender mis used those terms on there amp. Vibrato is the notes moving up and down like Vocals vibrato. And Tremelo is the fluctuation of volume, up and down. So how does fender call a Vibrato arm on a guitar Tremelo? Wtf Named these things? And for decades upon decades nobody at Fender is intelligent enough to correct it?
@sejrec562 жыл бұрын
Bigsby vibrato arm or vibrato.
@sejrec562 жыл бұрын
Actually in 1959 Magnatone made the first true stereo vibrato guitar amps, with oscillating between two speakers left to right, and with true vibrato effect where the guitar notes through the amp was literally making the actual instrument notes fluctuate up and down, as vocalists do when they sing. That is true vibrato. Most people don’t sing with Tremelo although the BeeGees brothers sang using both. Barry Gibb sang mostly with Tremelo and Robin Gibb sang mostly with Vibrato. When I was a kid and heard Barry Gibb song Words, I considered it to be fake vibrato, but in reality he Sang w Tremelo. Like a guitar amp Tremelo , fluctuation of the volume.

The tremolo guitar was George playing his Rickenbacker 360/12 (12 string).
@sampopkin2 жыл бұрын
Gretsch Tennessean. Only 12 string on the track is John’s Framus Hootenanny
@lg43602 жыл бұрын
@@sampopkin Five guitars were recorded: two acoustic, (Gibson j-160e and the Framus 12-string John used on Help) and three electric guitars (John's Strat, George's Gretsch and George's 360/12 with a tremolo effect applied to Harrison’s 12-string Rickenbacker.
@sampopkin2 жыл бұрын
@@lg4360 I don’t hear a rick 12 string or an amp tremolo effect. I think ‘tremolo’ is referring to the vibrato (trem) arm that george is using to get the wobble effect. The strat was used for the choppy staccato
@lg43602 жыл бұрын
@@sampopkin Sam, I don't mean to get into an "argument" over this, but the notes from the session show the guitars used. You can never get that tremolo sound from a vibrato arm while playing that. True, John did manually control the volume knob on I Need You, again George's 306/12, to get that almost organ sound, but this balanced tremolo is from the AC30 with the tremolo foot switch engaged.
@sampopkin2 жыл бұрын
@@lg4360 You’re right about the session notes and I mean no disrespect. I love chatting with Beatles gear nerds about this stuff. My only issue with the word tremolo is that in the song it is ‘vibrato’ where the pitch bends up and down fast. Instead of amplitude modulation
