Everytime a person overcomes his own reluctance of doing something he/she feels uncomfortable with he will feel great satisfaction. Ofcourse only actions within the limits of halal. Anything one does to improve conditions for the collective, that may be small things like dropping your alonetime with a good book to be with "the annoying lonely neighbour or the noisy uncle", whatever...
