I’ve been trying to replicate George’s technique on this song for years now . This song taught me a valuable lesson really helped me graduate from amateur to intermediate. Along with johns powerful rhythm keeping it solid throughout the whole gig is wild .what talented lads they were / still are ! Beatles on top forever!

John's guitar adds depth to the sound.

Actually the bleed gives an idea of what it's like to play live where you're focusing mainly on what you're playing while keeping an ear on what others are doing, and you've got your amp on monitor close by anyway. The drums and bass are so tight on this, it's incredible. Paul and Ringo don't get enough credit for that. I think that John and George's guitars sound better together and in the mix than isolated, but you can hear George's embellishments better. His pull-off licks in the second verse are glorious. I've listened to recordings of my band practising and I'm horrified by my guitar sounding off beat, but I hear the same with George's playing here, so that's OK. Billy's playing is gorgeous as always. I'm so glad he played on these sessions. His sound was perfect for The Beatles and gave them another dimension just when they needed it. In a parallel universe, The Beatles would've continued with Billy as a member.

Yeah, it’s a damn shame they didn’t stay together and play with Billy on tour in the 70s! He sounded so good with them immediately

His presence certainly lightened the mood when things didn’t seem to be going well. You could see the Beatles were visibly happy to see him. In terms of music, it added a depth they couldn’t achieve with 4 instruments.

George's raw solo is outstanding. Everyone was on it but I know for playing gigs myself, it was white knuckle ride from the start. Just magical and my favorite on the whole album.

hahah! George! I love this song but had never heard the entirety of the little fills until now! The Telecaster is the swiss-army knife of guitars, man! One second George's playing jazzy-sounding low-treble rhythm, the next he's soloing and that Tele's cutting through the mix like an axe (no pun intended!). AWESOME.

This song and performance IS the Beatles as they were. Great song. First song they wrote together. Dual vocals. Live. Smiles all around. Great solo. Like they were all back in the Cavern in 1962, if only for a few minutes. I don't think any other video shows how much fun they could have with each other. Might be their greatest live performance with this song. "Come on baby, don't be cold as ice..."

The Beatles knew how to play together and Billy Preston was the perfect complement. Not only here but also Abbey Road and some of the solo albums by John, George and Ringo.

JL and PM singing together sounds marvelous, as usual. Deceptively intricate. John getting those blue notes. That word in the lyrics might be 'rotation' or 'location'. John makes a portmanteau and sings "rocation", and chuckles.

From Day 1, George's solos have been genius. Nobody (except maybe Ringo on vocals) was going to Part The Red Sea Of Egos in that crew, so he simply created electric licks and fit them in where they'd blow the minds of all who heard. It was quite a new way of doing rock 'n' roll, or any music really...a wall of sound, no bridges exactly, just that classic "middle eight" with more lyrics and the continuing guitar solos like astonishing little flowers growing in between the cracks in the bricks & pavers. And, of course, George simply grew in musical stature from a prodigy who could play and sing (harmonizing in timbre identically with his older bandmates, and taking tunes like "Roll Over Beethoven" and "Do You Want To Know A Secret" as well as many more with no public awareness. The guy was a log-jam genius...just ferociously humble 'til he broke

While I love the Beatles, you cannot honestly claim that George's solos were genius from day one. His early work live was very poor and pedantic.

Wow ! I had never heard the little lead chord phrase George does from 3:10 to 3:13 ! What an education to hear Billy Preston's and George's playing so clearly. I've know this performance/recording since I was a kid - but now to hear this ! Preston's and Harrison's parts - fantastic subtle fills throughout - that support - never in the way. So brilliant !

Cool! I never noticed 9:23 before. Billy Preston's embellishments were key for a lot of this album's songs. And Paul's vocal technique at 13:17 is just something else.

@@strothermartin5368 There weren't any other songs, their set only ever consisted of 909, Get Back, I've Got A Feeling, Don't Let Me Down, and Dig A Pony. The thing is that their plan was to play the songs multiple times in order to have different takes to choose for the album.

Whether it's a coincidence or a relationship based on an unknown mysterious algorithm, your video appears on my KZbin window, and I'm watching your video like a dream. In particular, the moment I first saw your video, it made my heart flutter and made me happy. As I watch your wonderful videos, I keep falling in love with them. I am so grateful to you that I am enjoying your valuable video on such a fine day with clouds floating in the blue sky. When I opened the KZbin window today, my heart was fluttering. Among the many videos listed, your video caught my eye. I really like the feeling of your video. In particular, it is more emotional because the sense of space is melted in the colored atmosphere. It makes my heart flutter because I have a feeling that your video, which I feel was made with unsparing sincerity, will soon receive a lot of love. Your video is the best video. It seems that even my heart is touched so much that there is no flaw anywhere. It seems that there is a KZbinr who wants to become a fan after a long time. There are emotions that cannot be expressed in words in this short video. You have the ability to make your videos instantly stunning and attractive. Thank you to the algorithm that made it possible to watch good videos, I hope that you will succeed as you have worked hard for your dreams. I was hesitating whether to open the KZbin window, but if I hadn't seen your video in Hamat, I would have almost never felt another great joy.
