Nobody has this kind of fine musicianship any more! Obviously schooled professionals!

I didn't expect to discover as much as I did here. Thanks for breaking it down.

A beautiful arrangement and production! I'm glad Davy was able to use such fine musicians for this tune.

I like this arrangement of the tune, especially the brass and harpsichord section. The type of slowly that Davy was well suited for. That said, there’s also a great instrumental backing track that Chip Douglas produced of this song at the tail end of the Pisces sessions as I’m sure he was under the impression he’d be working on Birds & Bees as producer, which he wasn’t. That version is a lot more upbeat with jangling guitars. Shortly after Davy passed, someone out there managed to superimpose the vocals from this version onto the Chip Douglas instrumental version which gives us a sense of what the track might have been had it been released that way. It’s still out there, poke around and you’ll find it. Definitely worth a listen.
@@PeteZolli kzbin.info/www/bejne/pKerfXhsgdOckLssi=g7ndVfVwSMyfLCpz As well-constructed as this version is, I would have much rather seen a complete version of the alternate take that Chip Douglas produced. I feel the strings are really overdone on the BB&M take. And there's a big difference between Peter playing harpsichord on "The Girl I Knew Somewhere" and the style Michael Melvoin plays here.

Obviously , you can only work with the source material available. That being said, this sound fine. Keep up the great work- much appreciated!
