Oh dear! That fish was not happy... Do you think she found it again Bella. Those talons are big and sharp and nice to see them in close-up. We plugged our nest box in this week to see who was nesting this year. The camera inside needs replacing but still good enough to see that this year we have a Great Tit with 6 healthy chicks. Greetings Julie, She was so funny the way she keep peering over the side (this is the edited version, don't think she could believe it got away). The nest tree is right next to a river, not sure if the fish made it home. I did here the thump when it hit the ground... maybe not so lucky. No, Mom would have just popped across the road to the retention pond and grabbed another. Did you notice she had one fish in each talon :) she does this often. Hello Madeleine, They most certainly are, Mom is an awesome provider. At 6 weeks they are half way to fledging. This usually happens between 10/13 weeks. Yes, UME has been a wonderful protector for this eagle family, watching over the eaglets and chasing away intruders... he's doing a great job! Hello My Dear Marilyn, It's quite incredible how fast they grow... amazing really! This Eagle Mom is the best. 'The New Lover Boy' is keeping company with Mom, she even let him babysit for one hour while she was off the nest the other day... not on the nest, but nearby. He's been a wonderful protector for her, chasing away intruders. He's most often very close by. Will be interesting to see if they pair up next season... he's been very patient!
