The border also

I show how to do the border at 9:48 in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eZ2np4aEdr6ll6c For the borders on this Roblox cake, I did light grey, then airbrushed black around the edges before I put them on the cake.

That's a theme I've never been asked to make! I'm sure I will if she decides to make a comeback though 😂

How much tylose powder do you use in your fondant for your figures?
@KarolynsKakes24 күн бұрын
There's no set amount, it really depends on how soft the fondant is and how hard you want it to set up. I only make marshmallow fondant and I add approx. 1/2 tsp to the entire 2 pound batch when I make it. Then, when I want to make 2D cutout figures, I will rip off a piece, color it (which softens it up a little), then add some more tylose (amount will depend on how much fondant you have, but usually 1/8 - 1/4 teaspoon.). If I want them to dry really hard so they can stand on their own (like a topper), I will add even more!

For sure prefer you old format better. Have you noticed if these shorter videos do better for views ?
@KarolynsKakes23 күн бұрын
It all depends on the video. Some shorter ones do WAY better than the longer ones! I am still posting full decorating tutorials, but not for all of my designs as most of the techniques are repetitive and they take FOREVER to film, edit and upload! So I'm trying to figure out what I can show if I'm not filming the entire thing. I find that shorter videos with specific decorating techniques may be easier for people to watch and search for. This one was more about arranging and adhering decorations to the cake. Was there something about this cake you'd like to learn how to make?

@KarolynsKakes no nothing specific. I just enjoy watching the full process. But can totally understand that filming prob takes a lot of work when you're trying to decorate ! I'll continue to watch every video you post.
