I watched the video again. What about lamps? Low watt bulbs for ambiance. I'm a lighting fanatic. But it makes such a difference in a home. I hope I'm not annoying! 🥰

I LOVEEEE lamps! Where are you referring to? On the mantle?

Anywhere really. Years ago I heard an interior designer say that corners should be lighted, and I always do that and it makes such a difference in a room. A small table or a plant stand would work. Or, a floor lamp next to the corner faux tree would be so stunning.

What about making the room sort of a library! A couple of cushy chairs by the table, and play up the fireplace! Duraflame makes electric cast iron stoves, for a faux fire. They also provide heat in the winter. So cozy for morning coffee or wine at night! And says "Welcome" to those who enter! Just an idea

That’s something I go back & fourth on. My fire protection engineer husband might see that as a hazard haha! But I do like the idea of in the winter stacking those pretty white Birch logs up! Looks so nice.

The stoves I'm talking about have no flame. It's faux, but looks nice. They have them on QVC in several different colors. I got one for my husband's man cave cause I also did a mantle like you have! I also found "brick" wallpaper for inside the mantle and between that and the duraflame heater, everybody thought it was a real fireplace! It looked like an English study! I'll look on QVC for an item # that you can see what I'm talking about. I think your hubby would approve 😉

I got an amazing rosemary at walmart of all places. She's so full and growing strong!

I actually did! Then we ended up planting it in the ground so it can spread out better & have a bigger root system.
