If it’s the decision making and not perfectionism that stops you you might like those sticker colouring books? It’s like colouring in except you stick the stickers in the right place until it colours the picture

a hair dryer and a plastic razor can get most stickers off and then use some goo gone on a q tip for the leftiver adhesive, in case you decide to put stickers on the inside.

I got my first 3Ds right at the end of the regular sale cycle, like end of 2019. dirt cheap, $99 for brand new 3DS XL. Love it! Hence, Switch took my full attention, but it's fine. I will come back to it eventually. Neat idea with decorating the protective case instead the original console. I might try that too
