Ur living room feels hot probably because its facing where the sun hits the most. You might want to tint the windows or put darker curtains to not let alot of sun in. If not that area of your house will always feel hot. Trust me when i tell you this because my kitchen area has a sliding door and we can never chill in that area during the day because of how hot it feels
