I am just four minutes into this video and realize... "this is my style!"... I have always told everyone that my style is Victorian, but my home doesn't quite have this look that you are showing. The highly detailed designs of the furniture and the pastel colors are very beautiful. I love all the floral prints in fancy frames also... I tend to have darker tones in my home... All my woods are dark and not painted... I may have to re-think at least one room of my home to create this pastel-tone look... I love it all... thanks so much.

Who hung the pictures in these photos? Their placement is so nonsensical, I'd swear my mother had a hand in it. These din't seam like cottages either. The rooms are so big they have to be much larger homes. I could not fit all that furniture in my rooms. All the other shabby chic I have seen on line is a lot shabbier and way less chic than what you see showing us here. And let me state for the record: this is not DIY shabby chic. This is super duper expensive shabby chic. Some of the lace valances on the windows have got to be hundreds of dollars a yard. And that's just the valances! Dont even get me started on the cost of the bouquets.

Rescale, review, thrift,paint yourself, swop pieces with friends, learn to sew etc. it's about the look and it can most definitely be done on a small budget if you think creatively. Use your imagination and have fun in the creative process

Overly ornate, reminds of all the white "French Provincial" stuff from the 50's. This is a decorator's version of shabby chic, where you buy expensive frou-frou furniture, everything white, & cram it into one room. No thanks, I'll keep shopping at antique & thrift stores for the real thing.

That is what we have now looking for some of these beautiful pieces, in thrift stores. Some people are so creative withe their finds, painting furniture and putting this look together beautifully.
