would you make a video about the Oncidium some point? I have 2 still on the original pots, no flowers yet but it have overgrown and I am not really sure how to repot them. thanks

I have such a video from a couple of years ago! This orchid did really well after I repotted it, and in fact, needs to be repotted again! Here’s a link to that Oncidium repot video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/g3LMd5t_nt5np68si=eqoB5PSfNaIxHnQx Best of luck with your orchid, and thanks for watching!

Really good info and content. But, this is the second video of yours I've watched that you do too much work off camera. Simple fix is adjust your camera to focus on what you are doing.

Thank you for watching and thank you for your input. Do you, by chance, create videos? My camera is on a tripod and is autofocus. I film by myself and not sure I can get to this level of perfection with the equipment/setup I have.

@@TheOrchidHut Well, I just lost a very detailed reply, so I'll try again. Good thing, in the first vid I watched your were to the left of the counter, on this one you are on the right. Prolly, wouldn't have made sense! It's not about perfecting the video aspect, just the simple setup. At the beginning of this video, you have set up your camera view to focus on the cork right in the middle of your screen (top right corner of piece of cork). For a still shot it's ok. As soon as you pick up the cork and orchid, you are already starting to go out of view. "Rule of Thirds" to hopefully make sense. Look at this pic: thelenslounge.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/rule-of-thirds-composition-rules.jpg. See where the lil girl's left foot and shadow are? This is where you should place your subject (cork), Where the bottom left of the cork, handle and Spanish Moss intersect, even below and left would be better. When you begin working most everything should be in view (the ocean middle and top right of pic). If you are on the left of the counter try this: pixelstrobist.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/rule_of_thirds_landscape_2048x2048.jpg. Bottom of rock pile, far right of brown rock. I do not create vids, sorry. Have been photographing for a few decades. I would think you could prolly focus on the area described above and turn to manual focus? Of course, if you wanted to show closeups, you would be out of focus on closeups. I hope this makes sense. Just trying to be helpful.

excellent job but adjust your camera so we can see the whole thing not just the bottom. lol

You’re working very high on the screen so can’t completely see what your hands are doing

This is so frustrating. You literally cannot see what she is doing with the wire do to a bad camera angle

Apologies - this was an earlier video where not everything was perfection! (And it probably still isn’t, but always improving).
