It’s nice to see this. I was originally meant to be on this panel with the others. However, due to complaints from certain individuals, the DECULT organizers refused to provide an explanation as to why I was removed. To my disbelief, even after holding a committee meeting, they still decided to exclude me, despite having previously announced me as a speaker. I was gutted. Having already been shunned by the Jehovah’s Witness organization, being excluded from what I thought was a positive and supportive initiative was devastating. Once again, I feel shunned. I believe I could have provided valuable insight into what it’s like to be a cult survivor. I was disfellowshipped twice and have endured the heartbreak of losing two family members to suicide because they couldn’t live up to the expectations of this religion. To this day, I am still shunned by my family.

Hi Danny, I'm sorry that all of that transpired as it did and how everything went for you. I asked a few questions on your behalf before the event and during the event in-person and I've been given private information about their decision. To put it simply they were optimizing for very specific things and by the nature of their event they needed to. You weren't the only person or group they had to exclude from a very information and perspective packed event that could go have gotten out of hand due to the nature of the topics and the position of the groups everyone included was planning to point a finger at wealthy tax exempt entrenched cults with legal protections. I feel for you and fully understand your perspective. It sucks to be exclucded. You're fully justified in feeling that way. You are still included and your voice is important in the greater global ExJW community as a voice of someone who successfully navigated mind control tactic and have used your voice and platform to help others. I hope there is an opportunity some day for a humanist understanding between you and the event organization team. Decult announced a plan to do another event in 2026 but not before. In the meantime they have launched the Decult Collective to bring the Decult audience and professionals together. As long as everyone feels safe, I'm sure there is the potential to make progress. One of the most important elements for them to pull off a successful event with 500+ people was that they wanted the believers, atheists, ministers, survivors, psychologists, therapists, governent officials, human rights advocates, etc. people representing so many diverse groups with myriad of triggers that it was imperative that they had a drama free event. That goal in itself sounded like an impossiblity at the time yet they pulled it off without a single issue, which was quite apparent to me at the time, could have gone sideways in a number of different ways. It was important to them to include and exclude very select people and groups to achieve those goals, to meet that ambitious goal of a tricky distraction-free event where everyone felt safe, heard, and in an environment where everyone can learn from one another. Thank you for your reply; it truly means a lot. However, they had already announced me as a speaker, and at that point, publicly shaming me again felt cruel and unjustified. As I said, “Use me and abuse me, but don’t break me,” and yet they didn’t even flinch. You can see this in the videos I released. I want no part of DECULT. I put everything I had into exposing this organization, just as you have, but to silence me without giving any reason-citing only complaints from the EXJW community-was just another slap in the face. I have to say, I can’t shake the feeling that there’s a hidden agenda behind all of this. That said, I can also see a lot of good that came out of the event, and I don’t want to take that away from anyone. The worst part of all this is that I didn’t get to meet everyone in person. I wasted a lot of time setting up podcast interviews that never happened, all for a group that couldn’t even explain why I needed to be silenced-like I’m some kind of wild animal. I am a cult survivor, and I was about to be mentally harmed by a new cult-like group. Somehow, I must have been misunderstood, or perhaps someone knows things about me that even I don’t know. Yet they chose to act and believe without giving me the opportunity to defend myself or explain. I was left completely in the dark. The way they handled the situation was totally unacceptable and unprofessional. I’m glad I exposed them in my videos-they speak for themselves.

@Connected_07 I feel sad for adults who believe the fairytale is real. The religion produces real victims and they cover up crimes. If you're for this religion you're for child abuse at scale, family's forcibly ripped apart, rampant suicide among many other problems that are not yet the law but skirt the line of human rights violations especially for children. I'm not sure what part of this panel discussion persuaded you to comment but we're fine. We're trying to help the people trapped in the cult by removing the source of the problem or at the very least pointing it out so people can get on with their lives

Thanks for uploading this portion of the conference for free, Scott. I think its a poor decision on behalf of DECULT to charge people $50 to watch the conference videos. Seems predatory to me, as a cult survivor.

Mike, the NWT Translation is a laughable translation of the bible. The Bible itself is a book put together by the early Catholic church, then Watchtower claimed it as their own. The Bible is a bunch of man made stories, that are not founded in History or Archeology. Everyone needs to do their research. Fun Fact: Did you know Mathew Mark Luke and John were written anonymously, it wasn't until the end of the second century around 196 CE that Irenaeus a Greek Bishop assigned them these names.
