Deegan never had an official signed contract, he was never banned he just wasn't going to be paid apperance fees and that was a decision made at a board level not a Lawrance clause but it's easier to finger the blame at the Lawrance's because they have a profile....... simply Deegan left it to long to commit demanded to much money and was told no not happening now at the 11th hour it really is a bs story that's going to backfire. No doubt offers were made/ discussed but it was all pending board approval granted Lawrance's are on the board because they invested financially in this event and believe they also invested in the Aus SX series which this is the last round of, but no official contract was ever tabled to Deegan The Lawrance's boys aren't even getting apperance money for this event so why would they pay a 250 guy to show up last minute when event is sold out already ......... In Europe, Grand Prix Racers are bigger Celebrities than NFL & NBA Stars are in the USA. Isle of Man TT racers risk their lives to win very little. Stock Car racers all over the USA don't make enough to pay for the costs to run their cars. NASCAR racers can make Millions yet It costs Millions to Compete too. NASCAR does not pay the Teams enough to cover their costs.. They need Millions in Sponsorship to Finance the Teams. Michal Jordan's NASCAR Team has started a Lawsuit against NASCAR saying that NASCARS Charters are a Monopoly. NASCAR just singed a new Multi Billion Dollar Deal with a Cable Network too. NASCAR now runs AMA Flat Track and they came up with a system that guaranteed the Top Teams some money to show up for every race, but the Grid was not full so they dropped the second class called the Production Twins class to force the Premier Super Twins Class Grid to be full.

If they did in fact have some sort of clause in their contracts in Australia that basically said if other US pro level riders come there they cannot be paid to race that would be huge. That's basically saying they don't want other pro riders coming to challenge them and take money or maybe even challenge their corporate sponsors or their corporate race teams causing some sort of loss in revenue. They need to confirm if it is true and then all US sanctioning bodies should follow suit and put some sort of clause for outsiders racing in their associations as well. Reduce their purse money or make it so they have to pay more to enter.

So I'm 40 plus years racing and riding for those of us in the sport this long and correct me if I'm wrong. I don't remember Hannah Smith,Howerton, or any of the greats of my greatest memories of going to Pro Races and trying to ban someone. The closest I can think of any funny business was Hannah putting a sandwich on Pomeroy's front fender at the start gate because he had some weight issues... funny as hell. which could never happen today. I grew up in MO, and when Macio let Magoo go, a Suzuki dealership in Kansas gave him a 125,250 and a 500, and he started coming to our Wednesday night races and Sunday races in Springfield , Arkansas and Kansas and none of the Pro's said a word. None of this would be possible today, but as a kid starting out on an MX 80, just getting to meet him and watch his skills up close was incredible. Not now, those days are gone.

El Hombre is my favorite rider of all time, but I can't lie, the Lawrence brothers are superstars. They are a one of a kind extremely talented riders. My opinion at this point is this (still want to hear their side) The Lawrence Bros had a clause in their contract that they used to block Roczen, Anderson and Deegan from being paid by the Promoters if they tried to go. Roczen and Anderson never cared to go and Deegan thought he wouldn't because of his surgery. Then last minute Deegan tried to go since he was healing well and knew there was 6 figure start money waiting for him only to have the uno reverse pulled on him. Then when all of this started coming out Anderson saw an opportunity to lean into the drama and make the Lawrence bro look even worse and took it. He was just trolling with his post but IF he were to try to go best believe he would be in the same boat as Deegan. AGAIN this isn't fact but it's what it's looking like right now

Wow Americans are so full of thier own self importance........ Its called national pride and like America Australia has boat loads of it.
