My mom used to take us to the beach in Coney Island, from Queens. We were once fallowed by a Hispanic guy all way home. Of course we went around the block and not enter our building. He realized that we saw him and left. At that time Elmhurst, Queens was a Haitian neighborhood (1960’s) Mostly political exiles. We took the #7 to our house, after taking other trains. The CYCLONE (the roller coaster) is crazy, our school took us and my nails went through my girlfriend’s arm, I was so scared and screamed so much. Colombians eat their mangoes with lime and salt, that’s why she offered it to you. I think it’s an acquired taste. My neighbors in Miami have me some, it was horrible. I hope you’ll eat a NY HOTDOG 🌭 before leaving the city. Trust me it’s the best, and don’t forget “White Castle” hamburger and fries. They sometimes have sweet potatoes fries. There’s one restaurant in Queens Boulevard in Queens, near Queens Center.
