This is great, but it's more of a "rediscovered" sound than something ultra-new. I checked out her music from three years ago, and it was reminiscent of the illbient era artists from 20 years ago such as Badawi and Mutamassik. This newer music is harsher, more industrial and skittery, so it's incorporated patterns that have existed in IDM and breakcore for the past two decades, or even going all the way back to the likes of 1980s industrial legends like Muslimgauze and Esplendor Geometrico. In other words, it's following a grand tradition, not jumping out into the ether all alone with no guidelines. Fair enough? Still a very nice album.
