Tafsir Surah Al Nasr

Notes: - This Surah is the last complete Surah to be revealed. - The Prophet SAW was concerned about the message of Islam being spread and this Surah was a message to inform him that he will be successful. - The Sahabah were extremely happy because the Surah came as a reassurance. - Abu Bakr started crying inconsolably when he heard the Surah, he had understood that this means the Prophet SAW has almost completed his purpose on the dunia and will have to depart soon. Verse 1: ‘Iza Jaaa’a nasrul laahi walfath’ - Iza = When (Future tense) - Iz = When (Past tense) - Jaaa’a = Comes (Ata could be used but ‘Jaaa’a is a more powerful/ extreme form of expression) - Jaaa’a is used because the victory is powerful, it is coming after years and years of intense torture the Muslims went through. - Nasr = Help against something - Nasrulaah = Coming from Allah ( Incomprehensible help) - Fatha= Victory - It was understood that this was about the conquest of Makkah. The Prophet was able to gather 10,000 people to Makkah and his desire was to have no bloodshed. When they entered they announced to the people that they don’t want bloodshed, just stay in your homes and you will be safe. Verse 2: - “Wa ra aitan naasa yadkhuloona fee deenil lahi afwajaa” - Wa ra aita : And you will see (singular, talking about the Prophet directly, you will see floods of people entering the religion and witnesss these people come to Islam) - When the Prophet SAW conquered Makkah the arabs around the Arabian peninsula were convinced that if this man could conquer Makkah so they travelled to Makkah to take the message of Islam. They came as delegations and representatives to take the message and spread it in their lands - Because so many delegations came forward, this year was called Aam Al-Wufoud , Year of Delegation. There wasn’t a day when there weren’t new delegations coming. - “Afwa ja” = Group after group Before, people used to accept Islam individually. Now they were accepting it in large numbers. (A group of 700 people entirely accepted Islam) - Yadkhuluna = Enter in the religion of Allah People were entering Islam but their Imaan wasn’t necessarily the strong neither was their knowledge in the religion. A lot of them were doing it because of their groups. Therefore, no mention of Imaan is there. Verse 3: “Fasabbih bihamdi rabbika wastaghfirh, innahoo kaana tawwaaba” - Telling us how we should respond to success (glorify him and ask for forgiveness) - The order is interesting: Tasbeeh first, then hamd, then Astagfar ( First we give Allah something then we ask for something) “Fasabih bihamdi rabbika wastagfir” - Tawaba: One who accepts repentance Ayah ends with tawaba, he didn’t say ghaffara (forgiver). Tawaba means someone who returns to you more than you return to them… Allah is the one who performs tawba (means returns: offers forgiveness)more than we do. eg. Adam AS’s story (Allah sends words in the form of forgiving him and then Adam AS asked for forgiveness and Allah forgave him) Lessons: - Don’t be deluded with success (A reminder for Muslims when they were gaining victory after years of torture) - Have patience, things take time - Tawakkul on Allah

Assalamu alaikum sis, i cant help but notice something because alhamdulillah Allah guided me to understand the short surah through your tafsir and I find myself noticing as if Allah is speaking to me directly on my current situation and also speaking to me on whats going on with israel and gaza. Now i cant help but think that Allah is saying to us palestine will be free and His aid will come ane victory and islam will come back to its rightful beauty and glory. And with that Im also sad because that means we are really nearing the end of times like its right there in the corner. The question is if the major signs unravel, where do we stand in Allahs sight.
