New here. Girl you have to start NOW, making rules for your home. I have 3 children all close in age (8 year old girl - 6 - 6 boy/girl twins) and I taught them from toddlers to pick up behind themselves. We ONLY eat at the kitchen table. Doing just that will stop the crumbs and those smells in the bedrooms. If we are playing, we don’t move on to the next activity until we tidy up. Ex: playing with dolls, then 5 minutes later they want to do water paints. Sure! But we pick up dolls first and put them in the “doll bin”. make them help with daily chores. I promise it will make them think twice about being messy. Explain that they will have more fun time if they pick up behind themselves and not have to spend half a Saturday cleaning!!! 💖 best of luck

I don’t allow food or drinks in the rooms and only water when they ask at night in a closes cup. I know how toddlers are! I have a 6,5 and 4 YO. They make a mess with their toys. I can’t imagine the mess they will make if I allow them to eat and drink anything in their room.

I love to read all the mom’s comments on here that are uplifting. It really helps me with my depression knowing that I am not alone in this overwhelming cycle of maintaining a home with children. When I’m not working I’m doing all of that plus the many other things it takes to stay afloat. My social life suffers because by the time I’m through I don’t have the energy to even be on the phone and I’m most likely going to fall asleep halfway through my show. I feel for you and all my sisters who wakes up everyday to face the storm and puts on a smile as if the sun was shining. Because the weather is not always pleasant!

Try a 10-15 min reset each night. And then have them make their beds in the morning. Honestly, there is no help for the marathon cleaning sessions if we don't stay on top of it daily. My daughter is a hoarder. Imagine what that room looks like. She has gotten better, with a weekly cleaning, and then I deep clean it once a month. Hope it gets better, stay on it, Friend.

You did a great job, Mommy!!! I’d like to share a little advice to make your job a little easier (in regards to things on the floor)…. 1. Sweep/put EVERYTHING into one big pile. 2. Pick Out everything that you want to keep, as you do so, put them into piles by category. Toys, kitchen items, books, clothes, etc. ( while doing so you won’t have to bend over so much… You can sit and do this or have the children help you) When I was younger, my mom would say if it’s on the floor it’s going in the trash and then we would run and pick up all our stuff😂 3. Put all your items that you want to keep where they belong…. this process should be very quick because it’s already categorized. 4. Throw everything that is left from your original pile in the trash. 5. Vacuum

I needed motivation today. Today is the first day off in a while for both my hubby and i and i got a baby sitter to watch our 2 yearold. I have an autoimmune disorder and have a few disabilities that keep me from pushing to keep the house clean everyday. I try so hard too and then my daughter she loves throwing everthing on the floor. Right after i clean i get so frustrated cause i legit hurt myself cleaning. I try and turn cleaning into a game but she just doesn't seem to understand yet. Im gonna keep up with her and hope i can raise her to clean up after herself. But i needed this video today to get my self up and motivated to clean the house and push through the pain and just do it ❤❤🎉

Children are becoming more entitled nowadays . If you continue to clean up after them, they’ll continue to take your energy and effort for granted . I'm so sorry you're dealing with this mom. I too have suffered from major depression, anxiety, and panic disorder ( diagnosed at different times) . Unfortunately for me, I also have OCD and judge myself harshly if my house is not in order. I've found that taking the extra time to teach my children how to clean each room before supervising as they do it on their own has been a life saver. I've taught them we're all responsible for keeping our living space clean and peaceful. (Not including my husband because he's stuck in how his mom ran their house. For years he only maintained the outside and repairs inside). For my kids it was easier assigning them one corner at a time to perfect. They were easily able to master in small sections. They'd get a break, and go on to the next area. Started thus when they were each between 2-3 yrs old. Good luck to you. Also don't forget to seek medical attention because there are mild medications that can help wuth depression

I can do relate to this. My daughters bedroom always looks like this. I stopped cleaning it for her when she was 15 (she's on the spectrum, and has ADHD) I will help her if she gets overwhelmed by the mess but I won't do it for her. She's almost 18 now and I still find clean clothes in her laundry basket, but thats slowly changing since I introduced her to the washing machine and she realised that her clothes don't get cleaned, folded and back in her room by magic. Good luck teaching your kids to clean up after themselves. It's an on going task but they have to learn eventually.

The best part is knowing it took you all day because of everything else you have to do as a mom. As a mom and wife with ADHD and I suffer from depression I always thought it was my ADHD that was the reason it took me so long to get different cleaning projects done around the house. Even though I have to stop and feed people, change diapers, put them down for naps etc. I just thought I was flawed and the only one this happens to. It's refreshing to see people clean who have real messes and I like the girls lights on the wall I bet they love that.

We as mothers have more in common with each other than we allow ourselves to be vulnerable with. I’m a mom of 3 teens and a 3 yr old and it seems like I can never keep the house clean. Constantly repeating things (especially to kids old enough to know better) is sooo depressing. We have to learn to be easier on ourselves AND other mothers/woman. I truly believe that’s step 1. I'm only speaking from experience, but I had to declutter a huge amount of stuff from my kids room. I have a 7 and a 9 year old and I know it's harder when they are younger but I try to only keep things that they both like to play with. You know your kids so try to keep their favorites, like my son has Legos and cars and my daughter has paw patrols and little animal figurines, then together they have art supplies and books and games (minimal on the books because there's so many tools to help the kids with reading from ebooks to even the library so it's not extra inventory😉) my children both have 9 shirts and 9 pants/shorts so laundry doesn't become overwhelming. Now we only have to tackle their mountain of stuffies 😅😅😅 but downsizing their inventory has helped sooooo much with keeping their room manageable. I know it's tough mama, I'm a single working mom of 2 and after work I don't feel like coming home to clean I get it but reducing inventory has helped not only declutter my home but also my mentality and my time too. Dawn from the Minimal Mom has helped me so much coming to the mindset of releasing things that no longer serve me. You're trying as well as taking care of the babies being a mom and a wife, no judgement you got this 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻 you're not alone 🤗❤

Oh babe, I’m a daycare worker, people would be surprised how fast they can destroy the place. All day I run around cleaning after them and staying on top of them cleaning up. Not everyone has time for that when it’s not their main job. Kids will grow and they will learn. Just keep doing your best mama!

When I say this Its in no way disrespect! You need to sit down your children and talk to them about the value of money and how important it is to keep your home clean and organized for your mental health. Also to just feel safe and clean with no stress! It looks to me like they dont respect the beautiful things mom buys for them (hince the dresser Im specifically speaking on🤔)! If my child damaged something I worked for, OOH NO SWEETIE, NO, NO NOOO NOT HAPPENING! You have beautiful things that most can't and will never have so treat it special❤ They need to learn this from mommy 1st tho! Have a family meeting, make it a fun time go to dillar genral and pick up a foam or poster board, markers, foitter, stickers, etc and make a family chore board and follow through on it daily so they get into a repetitive routine! Mom you have no idea how much stress this will take off your shoulders just having help and a clean home! I promise you it will start making you feel motivated and energized to do more and more! Remember, what their growing up seeing from mom & dad is eventually what they will mimic for their future with their families. Break that cycle now! Again, this is no shade at all just trying to help I know what your dealing with to well and I am on the outside looking in🤷♀️ What better then to hear my opinion it cant hurt! ! I used to clean my son's room and then do all his wash you know all the motherly duties Im suppose to do. But he got ungrateful and felt intitled for more and more! So when he turned 14yr this past March, I showed him how to do his own wash, cook good food not air fryer and microwave, real home cooked meals😋 I showed my son how to properly clean our home too. When I clean, I deep clean wiping down ceilings, walls, fans, base boards, etc. But I suffer from mental health issues as well and I get lazy and dont want to do anything besides lay in bed but then I get a throat kick back into reality, the show must go on😂🤷♀️🤦♀️

I was one of the kids that was messy. My mom was always yelling at me when i didnt clean things "her way" but something i learned was parents cant always have control over their kids. Especially at that young age. Sometimes you gota just let them be kids for awhile. Its not your job to clean after them either. Let them be messy. As long as they are safe is all that matters.

I totally relate!!😢 then my cat has recently pee’d in her room!😡😡 this is a struggle. I just pulled the carpet out. No more carpet! I won’t even begin on what was under places, in that room. 😫 you got my full support.

Omg! So tell me what was under the carpet because now I’m invested lol. I want to pull the carpet out so bad but don’t have the funds to get wood floors right now 🥲
@ladyploveroflife5014 Жыл бұрын
@@bremuvaof4 what’s under there concrete, woods? Do you have an idea? So my floors are unfinished. So they needed sanding. Specifically in her room. But cat pee seeped all the way down to the wood! I had bought some Zep. You can’t find it anywhere like Home Depot, etc. it got the smell out. I rented a sander and got the stains out. There were some errors like some unevenness. But it cool. She has a full size bed. But I took her down to twin. She has more space. I had to replace the base molding because when I bought the house, for whatever reason, one wall didn’t have it. Go figure. It took time because her room was overwhelming!!😫 oh yeah, those nails and staples in the floor are time consuming. She slept in my room until it was done.

Hi Briana, Just watched your video and Girl don't worry! because I can relate, I am a single Mother, and both I and my 14-year-old are living in a 2-bedroom flat in London, where we have been living for the past 10 years, we have not had the opportunity to do any real work on our place as yet, but after just getting used to the environment, I have decided that I would much prefer to move somewhere different and put a deposit on a new place. Although we try our best to, keep it clean it's whenever I am at work, and because I usually work full-time hours it's like the things that just compile up in this property it messy and it just makes me think sometimes shall I just stop work and stay home and clean instead? But at the time, when I was working full-time any days that, I had off on the rota, I would use those days to, get the cleaning done! So, I can understand it can be a real challenge to juggle the cleaning of the house, and working at the same time as a single Mother!

I don’t have children but I feel like I can relate to the depression part my spouse is a bit mean and doesn’t do anything with helping with the household cleaning he works I also work 10hrs a day plus whatever cleaning I have to do and some reason it won’t stay clean for days I have to clean every single day but I’m also struggling with depression it started with being treated poorly than my dad passed away than the pandemic now I’m trying to come out of it so I can relate I know with kids it’s 10xs worse because you have to appear happy for them God bless you thank you for posting ❤

Dear parents! Let the kids choose their favourite toys and souvenir toys!!! When the kids are very good, then they deserve toys. Every good behaviour kid should have plush toys, legos, puzzles, figures, dolls, souvenir toys, toys from cartoons, balls, table games, blocks, cars, outside toys and etc. Please buy only those toys, what the kids very want!!!! I know many toys and souvenir toys are very expensive, but when the kids are very good all the times, then sometimes they deserve these things!!! Please be kind parents and make Your kids very happy with these toys, what the kids have chosen and don’t say NO all the times, when the kids very deserves those toys for good behaviour!!! Respectfully, Astra Viil ❤🥰

I can sympathize with you and a full blown job. I would suggest making a chore chart for the kids that can help do and that receive a reward at the end of the week.

My post partum was the worst after my 6th baby. He's 3 now, but i feel like im just now really recovering, honestly. Plus, on top of the fact, my mom passed 7 years ago now. But it still feels like i relive that day every day. It's like my mom just went missing, and we can't find her. My oldest just graduated, and my mom isn't here. Life is always coming at me fast feels like. It feels a little better knowing life is coming at other mothers fast, too, because i definitely feel like im the only one.

Some kids learn by example so being a good role model to them would help. They'll eventually say hey this is working for my mother so let me try that to and see how that works out. But even if it doesn't, your kids are individuals and you need to find a solution that works for them, not just you.
