Looking at the condensation on the interior I'd say a seal had gone, that mould will be back sharpish.
@johnmartinez7440
@johnmartinez7440 3 жыл бұрын
I was thinking that too. My MK4 Golf has a similar problem, and short of fixing seals and pulling up the carpets to sort the water out, the mould keeps returning regularly. This one looks a lot drier at least, so maybe the problem is solved and it just needed cleaning.

Golfs have an issue with the seals around the speakers.... water runs down the window and in through the speaker. This goes back many years, they do the seal different to other manufactures.. My Golf R did this in 2018 at just 13 months old.

Thank you so much for making all these videos, there very informative and I really enjoy watching them! I believe I've watched all of your videos up to this one, so still a couple of newer ones to go. I recently discovered a bit of mould in my car on the carpet, a floormat and perhaps the backseat as well. I want to address this and give the car a very good clean, but there are a couple of things I'm not not sure of yet: - When do you know you can stop wetvacuuming, especially with mould? Is it just a number, or the colour of the liquid extracted or ... ? (I bought a karcher se 6.100 for this) - if I understood correctly you mentioned having dehumidifiers in your workshop to take care of all the liquid that's still inside the chairs after wetvacuuming them. How would you work around it if you didn't have those? - do you know if there is an easy way to identify which parts of the engine to cover up if you don't know a lot of about car engines? I'd love to hear your recommendations on this. Cheers!

Awesome work as per usual mate. Quick question, have you thought about using something like Auto Finesse Lavish ontop of your sealant/polish all in one? Thinking it's a quick process for extra protection and also I found decent gloss enhancement capabilities.

Another brilliant, enjoyable video, many thanks. A quick question on mold if I may, what a cheek, no pressure of course? The wife’s SLC hasn’t been used much over winter lockdown and the roof has leaked. The perforated leather seat has got mold in it. I have dried it (a cover, long drives with heater, heated seats and airscarf on full, roof down) and used a leather-safe bio spray, working it in with a detail brush. But I think it needs more aggressive work as there are signs of return. I have an extractor. Do you have any experience in extracting through perforated leather?Some things scream at me that it probably isn’t a good idea, maybe removing natural oils from the leather and I think it will leave the seat pretty wet as the tool head is not going to seal with all the holes in tough leather compared to fabric. But I have never tried before. Obviously product choice would also be critical on leather. Any experience you can share is appreciated and many thanks in advance... I am truly expecting a “don’t do it you fool”. 😁
