I used to detail cars as a high school job. It was fun. But I never had anything close to these disasters. That second car, I'm amazed those guys took it on at all. At some point, the effort involved surpasses the car's value.

He's right, 99% of vehicles that get in this condition are not worth this effort and cost.

I hope one day businesses in the future will look towards using dry ice for cleaning. Also, with all these barn finds, I'm surprised they haven't considered donating these cars to a car museum.

It's extremely expensive in both the material and equipment needed.

All of these looked like $2500 cars and the detailing looked to be at least 3 grand.

If the owner neglected the interior that much, the car’s probably fucked mechanically. Complete waste of time if maintenance was barely performed.

Deep clean and power wash 4 times? Isnt that more costly than just a new carpet? xD
@lucastrask2838 Жыл бұрын
I assume you haven't priced carpets. Many cars, I would say most, carpets haven't been available for years. Some models you can get 'kits' say for your vintage Mustang, or old Chevy. I've restored a number of cars and the parts bills would put you into shock. Most of the profit in a restoration, when there is any, is in 'saving' things. Labor is expensive, unless you do it yourself. Or why a seven hundred hour restore means six hundred hours for the owner.
@Winterhe4rt Жыл бұрын
@@lucastrask2838 Exactly, hours are expensive. Thats why I am asking if a replacement is no option. But yeah I guess finding a replacement would be tough.

How many pills and baggies do you think were found scattered in that hoarders cars?

I've detailed for years. The worst cars are Subarus (all of them), Honda HR-V's, Honda FITs, basically all Hyundai and kias, then most of your SUVs. For whatever reason these cars are always trashed. Also....please please please remove your personal belongings before having your car detailed.
