I love the narrative aspect that hits on youtube, a long video can have a beginning middle and end- like watching all the little details of you cleaning the room, not sped up, not only edited for the most interested parts. So we go on the journey together in a more invested way than TikTok. TikTok is sound bites, youtube is story.

11:46 I totally agree! I honestly never liked tik tok because it’s so easy to get lost in it. With KZbin I feel like it’s easier to plan how long you’re on it (“I’ll just watch two more vids”). But with TikTok it’s just an endless loop of similar length videos. I can also tell that KZbin content makes me happier for some reason.

With KZbin vs TikTok, I feel like I have a friend in the people I subscribe to on youtube, and I love just playing the youtube videos throughout my day in the background as if I'm ft with them, watching and listening to what they're up to. Whereas TikTok I feel like I go through a rollercoaster of emotions, like one video will be educational, the next will be cute, and then the next is just something so sad & I'm sobbing. What i love about youtube is that i can always feel related to the videos and the people I subscribe too but on tiktok i just feel that they are like the old youtube when they used to make us feel like they have the perfect lifestyle. I agree 100% with the comment that youtube feels productive and tik tok feels draining. youtube makes me feel more connected with the creator and i often look forward to their uploads, it’s something i like to play in the background while i do my own errands or while i’m eating !! It’s a nice break and makes me feel relaxed. tik tok is something i really like for educational purposes too, like quick informational videos with tips but too much of it feels draining and unproductive

just got the motivation to clean my room so thank you!!, I've been in a anxiety cycle, so I struggle with motivation sometimes. Also to answer your question, I agree with what you were saying, KZbin just allows you to feel more connected to the creator, maybe it's because of the format, or the duration of videos. For instance, I would much rather watch a 30min video about something I'm interested in like a book review, then watching a 3 part small video on Tiktok. And again I feel more productive watching something on youtube, even studying, because I can seek out the type of content I want if that makes sense.

To answer your question about Tik tok vs KZbin: I think KZbin it’s really a personalized space for yourself, it’s set up to entertain you but also give you a similar feeling to hanging out with people depending on how creators film. Tik tok on the other hand, is really like fast fashion. Tik tok has categories to watch specific videos, but the content is always about someTHING and not someONE. Basically KZbin is for the people (creators and watchers) Tik tok is for the content.

You should get a built in wardrobe system built into the gap where your rails are! Glass doors so you can see everything and then a little freestanding rail for you to plan outfits on! Would look so aesthetically pleasing and match your brand/style better, and a lotttt more storage for you!

I agree with that comment you shared, I spend the majority of my 8 hour work day watching youtube on my personal laptop while working on my work laptop. It's perfect entertainment that allows me to still be productive, whereas if I were on tik tok on my phone, that would be the only thing I was doing. Also, I've been watching the same creators on KZbin for over 10 years at this point and I love that even though I and the creators have grown in the past decade, I still look forward to watching every video. I find with short term content, my interests change a lot and I may only follow someone for a short period of time or watch a couple of their videos, whereas with KZbin, I've been subscribed to the same people for years and still watch every video because I've truly grown up with these creators!

My interaction with TikTok and KZbin are for different things and times. I play KZbin as an addition to my TV consumption; it’s story based, vlog/podcast style and usually I’m doing something else at the same time (cleaning, working, at the gym, etc) whereas some tiktoks don’t have voiceover and I have to watch it instead of listening to some of it. They’re different and for different times - I don’t usually like to watch KZbin and do nothing else at the same time

I personally like KZbin over tiktok because like you said, it’s easy for me as a young mom/wife to pop something on while I’m cleaning up and still feel good and productive about my day whereas I personally won’t let myself download tiktok because I feel like I spend so much time scrolling through my other social media that I don’t want ONE MORE THING pulling my attention away from my family and other more important things than what’s behind my screen. So for me it’s honestly more of a “self preservation” tactic, but obviously no shade to anyone who does enjoy that platform. It just isn’t for me and I feel more connected on KZbin even though I’ve never made my own video and am essentially just a content consumer-😅✨🖤

I actually prefer KZbin over any other social media. I feel like it truly brings me value with longer videos, longer entertaining, informing, and learning if that makes sense. I love to relax with a few of my favorite KZbinrs. IG reels, Facebook videos, TikTok.. it’s all so impersonal. I like to go through a whole process with the content creator.
